Guest guest
Hi everyone, I had a dream this morning in which I was boating with my sister, Anne, who is in the hospital right now. In the dream, we were with a bunch of people in small motor boats that were about to go on a river tour...there was this beautiful river...I could see it from where we were all gathered in our boats near the dock. The river was very straight and flowed under a tall bridge in the distance. We were about to leave when I noticed that the boat Anne and I were in was sinking; it was actually submerged just under the surface of the water. I said ‘Will we be able to make it?’ Anne said ‘I’m going to have to take it under the bridge like this.’ I realized that she would never make it with me in the boat, too, so I got out of the boat and swam to the dock and she took off in a submerged boat to go down the river and under the bridge. Does this contain any message about my sister's current condition? I would appreciate any insights anyone might have. Peace & love, Claudia ______________________________\ ____ Looking for a deal? Guest guest
If I had that dream I would wonder if I had a subconsious feeling that I am somehow " holding my sister down " from making it (somewhere). This does not mean you are actually doing this, it just means a part of you may be thinking that. Does that make any sense at all to you? Let us know-- We all are praying for her and you, so we won't " keep her down " ! :) Stephen , Claudia Lambright <newtfoodbowl wrote: > > Hi everyone, > > I had a dream this morning in which I was boating with > my sister, Anne, who is in the hospital right now. Guest guest
Hey Claudia, I'll give it a little go, please use your discretion. You are on an emotional journey (the water) with your sister on a sinking ship, the way is clear and straight, or obvious. To reach the crossing point or turning point, the place to go over safely, your sister may need to do some of the journey on her own. For me, I think it's about letting your sister make her own choices with regards to her illness and situation. I would say support her, but allow her to be the perfect soul she is no matter what she chooses. Let us know what your final thoughts on the dream are! be well, be love! bradly
Guest guest
Dear Stephen, That is a very logical observation and it makes good sense. As I look at our relationship, as honestly as I possibly can, I cannot see that I am holding her down in any way...the fact is that, even though I am her older sister, she does not 'look up' to me. She and I don't see eye to eye on spiritual subjects...she is a very fundamentalist Christian and I am, well, very 'non-traditional' in my beliefs, LOL! So anything that I share with her in that area goes in one ear and out the other. I do not believe that I have any influence on her whatsoever. For example....this morning as we were talking on the phone, we were discussing our cousin Linda, whose father (my father's youngest brother) died yesterday...I just got that news last night. Our cousin Linda is a hopeless drug addict who lost her children many years ago and, as far as anyone knows, is living either with another in a long string of men, or on the street. We both commented that Linda is a sad case. Thne I said, but who are we to say that her life is wasted because she has chosen this life for a purpose, to learn some life lesson...Anne said absolutely nothing and then changed the subject. So, if I have any influence over Anne, it is unknown to me. I cannot see how I might be 'holding her down.' I'm wondering about the symbolism of the sinking boat...Anne wanted to go it alone in a sinking boat. She is quite brave, so that seems like her...perhaps the sinking boat is her body...so maybe the dream is telling me that she will not make any changes in her diet/lifestyle as a result of this health emergency, and will just go on in her 'sinking boat.' Since she has been overeating and has been obese for more than 25 years, I do not expect her to change now, regardless of losing her gall bladder, although I certainly hope that I am wrong. Thanks for your thoughts, my friend! Guest guest
Ha ha! I was just writing a response to Stephen where I was talking about Anne's 'sinking boat!' Yes, I think the dream is telling me that Anne must make her own choices, and I am comfortable with that even though they may spell her demise. There is a reason that she chose to live this lifetime with food/weight issues and I honor her soul's choice. As I said in my post to Stephen, I have little if any influence over her anyway. She is very headstrong and independent and has always 'gone it alone' and I'm sure she will continue to do that to the end. She sounds stronger this morning, and is able to eat soft foods now...the pain in her stomach is a dull pain. The doctor has not come by yet, so I will be calling her back this afternoon to see what he might have to say. They drew some blood this morning, so she will hopefully get those results as well as from the MRI she was given yesterday. Thank you, dear Bradly, for your thoughts!
