Guest guest
||Om shri Lalithambikayai namo namaha|| ||Om shri Gurubhyo namo namaha|| Hi all.... In the process of worhiping a deity, one of the prime procedure is worshiping the god with the sharasranama(shasra---One thousand;nama---Name). The sahasranama will be one thousand names of a god. This will be in the form of a stotra ie, the names are arranged in the form of stanzas according to the gramatical rules. This stotra is chanted or recited to perform a verbal worship. The stotra is also used to perform a worship by act by chanting each name and for each uttering of the name a flower to the god. Worshiping the goddess shakti using the sahsranama of hers is of a very very special procedure in india. The sahasranama for the goddess is called " Lalithasahasranama " --Lalitha is the name of the devine mother and sahasranama...thousand names.....This sahasranama is considered to be the goddess herself in the form of a stotra so chanting the stotra is as good as invoking the goddess in full.Every name in the stotra has so much power and meaning in it. So eventually by reciting the whole stotra would mean we shall be calling the goddess 1000 times.......lots can be spoken about this sahasranama...which is called the king of all stotras......the highest place is given to this stotra amongst all of the stotras that we can come across to any god/goddess........ I have been trying to upload this stotra so that all can listen to the audio of it......once done i shall post the link here....... Thanks and regards Prasad

Guest guest
||Om shri lalithambikayai namo namaha|| ||Om shri Gurubhyo namo namaha|| Hi all.... After the sahasranama it is time for the next one......it is a very common practice that after one worships the god with the sahasranama the process is completed by worshiping the god with the astotaram.....or the 108 names......this is very much like the sahasranama....but it is 108 names in number.....usually in all the temples when one goes the purohit(ie the priest) will do a pooja to the god chanting the astotram...but it is supposed to be mandatory to worship the god with the astotra after the sahasranama pooja..... There is a astotra for the goddess shakti too....this stotra is really awesome.....the download link is below..........enjoy praying to the goddess and may all be blessed with her grace...... http://www.zendurl.com/lalitha Thanks and regards Prasad
