Guest guest
What?! You mean there is an acceptable substitute for my precious milk??? Is this vanilla rice milk good for just drinking? And will it NOT add to my mucous load? What about cheese substitutes? I use cheese in cooking some dishes...cheddar & mozzarella mostly... We actually have a health food store in this one-horse town and I'll bet they carry this vanilla rice milk, so let me know, Chrism!! Guest guest
In the USA I know they have many good soya substitutes for milk and cheese... But beware, some contain loads of crap in them. I think it's good to stick to the healthy ones and just get used to going without it, I had to and it's not that bad. Guest guest
Hi, Becky, Hmmm...that sounds good. I will definitely check out these Rice Dreams products...I'd love to try the ice cream, but I imagine it has sugar or one of the sugar subs like aspartame in it. However, I love both vanilla and chocolate milk, so I'm on my way to the Natural Market!! Thank you, dear girl! Guest guest
Like you for most of my early life I was an avid milk drinker. Then I saw dairy operations. Then I also saw the breakdowns that the government deemed as acceptable risks. How much pus and other issues were allowed to stay in the milk. Then I realized what these greed oriented corporations were doing i.e. turning cows into cannibals and in the process developing these diseases. Diseases that were forthcoming from those operations. Mad Cow disease for one Hoof and Mouth, The Wasting Disease that is now spreading through the wild Deer and Elk populations for is a product of corporate farming processes let loose (accidentally) into the environment. I have had to turn people away from donating blood because their father or mother or another person in their family has had contact with Mad Cow disease. Their parents typically died and professional, good, sweet, dear people would walk away in tears with a huge burden over them as they feel as if they were going to die soon. No the media doesn't cover it but I have experienced this. Mad Cow is a disease that has no cure from the medical arts and sciences. A form of life has been created with Mad Cow that is unlike what any other form of life here on this planet. It is a biological mineral that is so strong and persistent it cannot be cleaned from surgical instruments. There is no cure. So somebody has surgery and they have Mad Cow, those instruments cannot be sterilized with an autoclave and must be discarded. Extremely high heat is required to the point of harming these surgical tools because Mad Cow is both biological and " mineral " based. A smart microscopic rock that duplicates itself and that feeds on the neural tissue of the brain and body of certain mammals. Humans being one of them. It is a wasting disease. These issues do not occur in organic foods as much. The factory farms still continue to make and process foods to the detriment of the populations and the environment. There is little or no oversight from the Gov. at this time. So I stress organic food for you and your loved ones. You will make your own decisions about bovine products and come to your own conclusions. Once again organic products do not typically have many of these issues unless a cross contamination or lack of oversight has occurred. I gratefully changed my milk habit. I enjoyed the Soy milks and the almond milk, hazelnut milk, and the rice milk. Vita Soy, Rice Dream, and Pacific these companies make the milk from nuts or beans and many of them are organic. Kundalini enjoys clean and minimally processed foods. Cheese if organic is fine. Years ago I stopped drinking bovine milk. You make your choices. Your Kundalini will come regardless. Actually yours has already started. So as far as the mucous goes the rice dream will not cause anywhere near as much mucous as bovine milk product will. Sorry for the long scary answer. -

Guest guest
The thing that convinced me to go " vegan " (no meat, fish or diary) was a book called " The China Study " . I highly recommend it. (And believe it or not, I rarely miss any of the above.) Blessings all.. Guest guest
Thank you for putting a light on that topic, chrism. It wasn't too long or scary enough really. Not that I'm into that sort of thing...I try to stay with organic when at all possible. I have tried the rice milk and it's good. I quit using it because of the high carbs. I'm trying to lose weight. I take in too many carbs as it is, a struggle to keep lowering it. And my body needs protein, I know that from experimenting many times with severely reducing or cutting it out of my diet. I get sick, anemic, tired and run down. (I'm an O+ blood type and I hear that is common with that type). But I will try the rice milk again. I do get the mucous thing with milk which is a bad thing when you're a singer! I love yogurt, though! Any good substitute for that? And still keeping the good Acidophilus, Bifidus bacteria? Speaking of the blood donor issue, my husband and I aren't allowed to give blood, even though all blood banks are hurting badly for blood, because he is English and I lived in England for 6 months, so we " might " have it and they won't take our blood! We are just heart- sick that we can't give blood. I'm sure we don't have the disease. We rarely eat beef and that was 8 years ago, I'd think we'd have symptoms by now if we had it! So it's sad. I didn't know about the mineral content of that virus! Weird! Thank you. I always find your " essays " very interesting and glean much from them that is of use to me, as others must. Bless you, friend, Valarie
