Guest guest
I see a bit of a conflict between a couple of things and I'd like to get the group's thoughts about it. We have talked here about the problems inherent in telling family about our involvement with Kundalini because they may not understand and therefore they will worry or think we are losing our mind. Chrism, you have advised us not to discuss it with family because of that, and I agree completely...my parents would not understand and I do not want to concern them. As it turns out, we will be making a trip to my parents' house the weekend of Sept. 22, arriving Friday the 21st and leaving Sunday the 23rd, the first day of Shaktipat. I have been planning to fast for 3 days starting on Friday and going through Sunday. Without telling my parents about Kundalini and Shaktipat, how do I explain my fasting to them while still honoring the 'honesty' tenant of the Safeties? Believe me, in my family, fasting will not go unnoticed, LOL! Your thoughts will be appreciated. Blessings & love, Claudia ______________________________\ ____ Need a vacation? Guest guest
Yes Claudia honesty is very important and as you progress further it will become more and more so as avenues of experience and interaction begin to blossom. It isn't an order to not tell your family. It is a suggestion as they may not be able to understand or support a person going through such an intense and fantastic experience. If you feel they can then yes of course tell them. My concern is that at least here in the US a persons family can have you committed to a mental ward (for your own good lol) for exhibiting symptoms and having experiences that fall outside of " their " comfort zones. This will typically also fall outside of medical comfort zones as well. This is why I suggest the privacy. Also as a way of keeping a stable situation...stable. Kundalini can occur with nominal interference for family members. Or it can have a major interaction. Depends upon the dynamics of those involved. Fasting is a system cleanse. It is also a method of exercising personal control and a way of establishing and fulfilling personal intake goals. Its use in Kundalini is in line with these other qualities. So there are other options rather than telling them about the Kundalini. Some physicians even recommend a one day fast per week. - , Claudia Lambright <newtfoodbowl wrote: > > I see a bit of a conflict between a couple of things > and I'd like to get the group's thoughts about it. > > We have talked here about the problems inherent in > telling family about our involvement with Kundalini > because they may not understand and therefore they > will worry or think we are losing our mind. Guest guest
I just tell people I'm fasting for my health. They don't need to know all the details really. You can say you just felt in need of a clean out, tell them a few friends are doing it also and so you agreed to do it as a group for support.
