Guest guest
The last days of summer have always held a special meaning for me, not just because of my natal day, but because of the feelings associated with the autumnal equinox. On this last day of summer I went to the levy to meditate and watch the sun set for the last day of summer. Sitting there in lotus form feeling the rotation of the earth and the lessening of cosmic strains all the pulling and pushing diminishing. Twilight time, the time for restoration and balance, there are many tales about the equinoxes and what I saw what I noticed while meditating I though I might share. The levy on which I was sitting is usually the boundary of a meandering little stream that leads to the Arkansas River and barely a couple of inches deep. After the last rays of the summer sun had disappeared the level of water began to rise as they were releasing water out of the damn. As the water rose I noticed some kind of bobble in the stream below and in a semi-coherent state this object began to collect my attention. The light in the shallow valley below was quickly fading and it was hard to define what this object was. After several moments of watching this object bob under the rising waters then to return to the slippery mud of the shoreline then to be swept along with the influx of the rising tide, I was able to discern that it must be a large turtle. The twilight of the last day of summer was at hand and it was time to look skyward in search for the first star of the night. Arching backwards to see the glow of both horizons the darkening band of night began to form overhead. There directly overhead it came into view the first star of the night sky and I'm sure everyone knows " star light, star bright, first star I see the night. " While going through this ancient rime a most odd thing I did see, like a UFO a point of light just west of Vega going ever so fast toward the constellation Sagittarius. I had to look up a few things and remember of few that I had forgotten, as was the first star I saw really Vega the ancient pole star. Yeppers it was but other fact is that it is in the constellation Lyre a first musical instrument created by Hermes out of a turtle shell. While looking up mythology I found: Mythology In the Chinese love story of Qi Xi, Deneb marks the magpie bridge across the Milky Way which allows the separated lovers Niu Lang (Altair) and Zhi Nü (Vega) to be reunited on one special night of the year in late summer. In other versions of the story Deneb is a fairy who acts as chaperone when the lovers meet across the bridge of magpies. So what did I see a UFO or the lovers crossing the magpie bridge. And to everyone take a break today and enjoy the equinox to regain balance.
