Guest guest
dear chrism and k list... some thoughts and questions arose regarding " surrender " while doing the practice this morning: first of all we're dealing with the word " surrender " that can have many shades of meaning. there are also many concepts attached to this word and so in order to simplify and get to the point, i'll pose this question. is chrism's idea of " surrender " about giving up or sacrificing certain worldly activities, objects and such? (kind of like renunciation or Lent?) OR: is it about losing one's resistance (fear) to the changes that Shakti may demand for her own development? is surrender more at one of these poles of meaning or have i missed the point entirely? is it a combination of things? i'll stop babbling for now and let there be responses if any... love to all! -steve f
Guest guest
I truly believe it's the second.. Well, at least for me. In my opinion Kundalini can be healthy activated only in absence of fear, and if you trust the energy. , " gnilaeh1111 " <gnilaeh1111 wrote: > > dear chrism and k list... some thoughts and questions arose regarding " surrender " while > doing the practice this morning: first of all we're dealing with the word " surrender " that > can have many shades of meaning. there are also many concepts attached to this word > and so in order to simplify and get to the point, i'll pose this question. is chrism's idea of > " surrender " about giving up or sacrificing certain worldly activities, objects and such? Guest guest
There is so much to be said about surrender. At one point in my life I thought surrender was something you did when you ran out of bullets. My concept of surrender is that it is the willingness to let go of our sercurity blanket. When we desire to step into a whole new world we must often let go of the old one. We must be willing to do this! Surrender is! Surrender is total honesty, the kind that comes from the heart! Surrender is letting go of our ego based self-will to embrace the will of the spirit or the shakti. Surrender is the willingness to let go of whatever is holding us from stepping into our new world. We are always in control! We can surrender a little and get a little. We can surrender a lot and get a lot! Spiritual growth requires us to step beyond the bounds of our everyday world. To do this we must be " willing " to take that step! Hope this helps! Love and Light Bob P.S. We can always take back our surrender if it gets too uncomfortable! Guest guest
Ah! Now people are asking the better questions. It is a combination of those two poles Steve in my meaning and application of it. At first. Then it expands as needed for the individual as Kundalini begins her infusion. Nice going Steve! - c , " gnilaeh1111 " <gnilaeh1111 wrote: first of all we're dealing with the word " surrender " that > can have many shades of meaning. Guest guest
I like and agree with what you have said about surrender in this post and in the other one, Bob. That is axactly what surrender means in a christian sense as well. Thanks, Linda , " mayaseas " <mayaseas wrote: > > There is so much to be said about surrender. Guest guest
Thank you for the post Bob! It brings to mind a little child cruising furniture. There comes a point when they need to let go to see if they can take some steps on their own without " support " . Then they progress to running. I guess we will never fly if we aren't bumped out of the nest! Thank you again Bob. Sarita , " mayaseas " <mayaseas wrote: > > There is so much to be said about surrender.
