Guest guest
Excellent response, Venugopal! This is the way I feel... and I suspect God would agree also! :) Stephen , Venugopal AK <akvenugopal wrote: > > Dear Amandala, > All the dieties are just symbols. Late Swami Chinmayananda says that Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are just symbols representing the three aspects of God - Creation, Maintenance and dissolution. He adds, a skull and two bones are used as a symbol of danger. On high voltage transformers this symbol is pasted. Will anybody think that there are skulls and bones inside the transformaer box ? No, people know they are just symbols. Same with hinu dieties. There is only one God and he has an infinite number of names !! > Regards > Venugopal > > Åmandala <mi5anthr0pe wrote: HI everyone, > > I was wondering if the belief in the actual god or goddess > shiva/shakti is absolutely necessary to study the Kundalini or if > using them is more like a symbolic thing. Guest guest
Although this is tangental to the topic, it reminds me of something Babi Hari Dass once wrote. He was telling (via chalkboard, he was a mouni sadhu) an interviewer that as a boy he thought that God was like a giant that walked on the roof. The interviewer asked him what he now thought God was like. Baba Hari Das replied " I don't think He has legs.
