Guest guest
Hi all my loving Sisters and Brothers! What is the purpose of the finger locks? As I do them I feel that they are what keep's me anchored to the present...current reality. The touch and keeping the fingers together make me mindful and keep part of me grounded in this world. Is this the purpose or am I totally off base?! Also, what is up with the Mother Goddess? Everytime I slouch when I sit, she zap's me with a blast of energy up my spine that makes we sit straight up! It feels good, just looks weird to anyone who comes in my office. Just like a Mother...always telling me to sit up straight!! Sorry I haven't written much lately...just busy reading all the e- mails! You guys are great for sharing so much!! Thank you all so much for making this path such a joyfull one. I wouldn't want to travel it without all of you! I love you all!! Guest guest
The finger locks we do are for the chakras, to encourage energy to flow in certain pathways I guess. The thumb and first finger together stimulate the base chakra. This would feel grounding and securing to you as this is the energetic vibration of the base chakra : security. Hope this helps clarify that sweet brother so full of love. We wouldn't walk this path without you, it wouldn't be the same!!! Guest guest
I believe the purpose is for grounding and regulating the flow. I know when I first joined and was very symptomatic told me to start doing the finger locks and tongue up right away. It DID make a difference and things went much smoother thereafter. Hugs! Guest guest
Hi All ! About the finger locks, I was actually already thinking about asking this question today... From the securities: " FINGERS IN POSITION This is the thumb tip and fore finger tips joined (pressed together) with the other fingers spread out wide. This is a finger lock. " Is it 2 or 3 fingers together ? Thumb (no 1 of 5) + Fore finger (no 2 of 5) (aka Index finger?) ? Grateful for enlightment in this question, I'm sure it's me being non-english but by the wording above I get the impression there are two fore fingers being joined with the thumb. (?) Enlightenment to all! (in due time?) Stefan PS: Currently Enlightenment on Google gives 20,400,000 pages! and enlightenment (lowercase e) gives back 20,000,000 pages ! > >Monday, October 29, 2007 5:38 PM > > Re: Question on Finger Locks > >I believe the purpose is for grounding and regulating the flow. Guest guest
The classic finger lock from the Safties if thumb to index finger. Guest guest
Scott, I've just joined and your question caught my attention, so I thought that I would give a very brief initial response. The finger locks are called Mudras (sometimes specifically referred to as Hand Mudras, since there are also Full Body Mudras). For me, these Mudras have been ocurring automagically for many years as part of my Kundalini Shakti development process. Mudra means seal or symbol. Mudras help to channel and seal energy circuits. When the Mudras occur Naturally, Spontaneously, and Automagically the best advice (from my Yoga Grand Master) is to keep them while the various processes complete their functions. That is, don't break the Mudras since they will dissolve when their function is complete. You can also request the Kundalini Shakti to localise activities to time periods where you are alone, and to be subdued when in public. It is an intelligent energy - you only have to ask. Bhavin. PS. Apologies to everyone for not having first introduced myself. The introduction will be coming soon.

Guest guest
Hi Stefan, It's the thumb (1st finger) and the fore finger (2nd finger next to the thumb). Thats the root chakra lock. The one we do with the safeties. This lock is two fingers only. Like you are doing an " OK " signal with your hand. Love and hugs Elektra x x x _________ Answers - Got a question? Going by Acharya Keshav Dev's verdict, you could skip the doctor for a while and knot your fingers in various gestures, popularly known as Mudras. http://www.mudrasforhealing.com/ Elektra Fire <elektra.fire wrote: Hi Stefan, It's the thumb (1st finger) and the fore finger (2nd finger next to the thumb). Guest guest
Hi, Scott! To me the finger locks provides a totally eternal sensation, it's very different from what you described! I'm glad I learned this technique from the safeties. Finger locks don't bound me to the reality, on the contrary - they set me free! The feeling is magnificent, first like my palms are magnetized, then it seems like they make the energy goes in circle around me, crawling by my arms, and when my fingers go numb it feels like there's electricity running between my palms, and after that I feel like in a sphere of energy. It's very calming and exhilirative. I normaly keep my eyes closed during meditation, but when all this happens and I open my eyes, I see things in a different way - like encircled by love! Much love to everybody! Emona , " scott.regel " <scott.regel wrote: > > Hi all my loving Sisters and Brothers! > > What is the purpose of the finger locks? Guest guest
Amazing! The fourth one, that rids of cold and chest congestion, I hold my hands like that often. Could be the reason I never catch colds. I have a book I bought some time ago, " Sign Language of the Soul- A Handbook for Healing " by Dr. Dale H. Schusterman. At the time I bought it, I was going through a rough time and I glanced through it and could not concentrate on what it was about and set it a side thinking it was too complicated. I will have to get it back out and check it out more, now that I am in a better frame of mind. Anyways, it is about the tree of life and using mudras and symbols for healing of oneself and others. Guest guest
I have a silly question, but are mudras always done symmetrically? By which I mean, both hands do the same position in mirror image of each other or can you do one on one hand and another on the other? Just wondering. Love, Valarie

Guest guest
From this book I have by this Jewish guy, " Sign Language of the Soul " most of the mudras are in a mirror image, but there is a few that looks like it is done with only one hand and there are some that the finger are formed the same but the hands are put together going opposite direction of each other. There is a mudra for each of the chakras except for the 7th. There is a kundalini chakra, also. If you look the book up on the net the K mudra is on the cover of the book.
