I would try using honey to sweeten instead of sugar, eating fruit for a sweet kick instead of candy or refined sugar. Never use white sugar, if you must use sugar, use natural brown cane sugar. Stevia is also a natural alternative or molasses tastes great too. Raisins, dried fruit all tasty sweet treats. Use Cinnamon to regulate your blood sugar level. Also, the hard route: cutting it out totally and going cold turkey for a month can totally cut the habit. Make naturally sweet watermelon juice and drink that anytime you feel a craving.
