Guest guest
Each aspect of Hindu religious iconography is polysemic (that is, it has various layers of meaning). From a tantric perspective, Kali's tongue may stand for the power of khechari mudra. Guest guest
Hi here is some information that I gather about some of Kali . Her protruding tongue represents the fact that she consumes all things, and her white teeth represent her purity. Her full breasts represent her nourishing and loving role as the mother of all things. In two of her four hands she holds a severed demon's head and a bloody sword which represents the destruction of ignorance and the dawning of knowledge. Her remaining two hands gesture lovingly to her children, her devotees. > > What do you think the enormous tongue represents? > > Kind regards...Angelina >
Guest guest
Dear Chris, What do you think the severed demon's head and bloody sword represent and what do you think is meant by, " she consumes all things? Again I am a novice and have never researched into these deities . I was brought up with Christianity background but have since with my Kundalini activation had two dreams with Shakti in them . I also had one other experience laying in my bed where I believe it was a form of Shiva that came to me . I never even seen a picture of these deities but they still found there way to me. I have since been trying to learn what I can . I may be wrong with these representation so please check also and I'm sure others no far more the I . Guest guest
Dear Chris, >She holds a sword with the upper left arm and a head with the other arm . She can cut human bondage with the sword of knowledge, and bring wisdom to the head . Thank you for your reply and it sounds like you have a very good understanding of Kali and your dreams sound very interesting! Interesting that she holds the sword with her left arm because the left side is the female side of the body and she holds the head with the right arm - the male side of the body. This represents something as well. Kind regards...Angelina , " Chris_H " <chghes1 wrote: > > , " gypsyeyes_101 " > <gypsyeyes_101@> wrote: > > > > Dear Chris, > > > > What do you think the severed demon's head and bloody sword represent > > and what do you think is meant by, " she consumes all things? Guest guest
Does it matter whether the sword was in the left hand or right hand. also whether Kali had two hands or two hundred hands ? Kali is just a symbol !! IMHO, one should remember that. Shri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa always remembered God as Kali. Whenever he sat in meditation, Kali was the figure that appeared in his mind. This was a hindrance to achieving " Nirvikalpa Samadhi " , the highest state of consciousness. He complained to his Guru Tothapuri that Kali is always present in his mind. His guru says, " Use the sword of discretion and cleave Kali into two !! " . Sri Ramakrishna followed this advice and attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi.
