White chocolate soap

I'd just got my first apartment.

I'd been living there a week.

Though I remembered everything else..

I found I had nothing to eat.

I could have walked right down to the store.

Instead, I sat around whining..until nearly four.

Such a baby, I just moped about.

Until I was too sick to even go out.

Famished..I made my way downstairs.

Surprised, to see a package..sitting right there.

I examined it for a moment..not believing it was for me.

After ripping it half open, I smelled a delicious treat.

Oh my gosh! It's chocolate!

I ran upstairs, and finished opening it.

Lord, you must've known I was hungry.

For just now, this appeared for me.

Smiling eyes and prayerful hands.

So happy that I could sing and dance.

Chocolate! white chocolate!

Waiting at my doorstep!

Who would ever dream of such a thing?

Or even think to hope?

Spitting bitter fragments, in the sink...

all along..it was soap.

Lord, I know you're up there laughing.

I half angrily said.

For there was no pamphlet or card to tell me..

that it was gourmet soap, instead.

Smiling, I thought of how very silly it all was.

For a twenty two year old...to have a mouth filled with suds.

Unfortunately, this is a true story. (smile)

Love,

Tara
