hello,

i want to get everyones opinion on the use of psychedelics (mushrooms,

LSD, mescaline) for meditative and spiritual purposes. do they hold

any true benefit to the seeker? is it worthwhile?

i've done cacti 3 times and experienced a 'one-ness' and felt like i

was lucid dreaming, it was a great experience but i am thinking of

trying LSD soon, atleast once, just for the experience. to develop the

control of mind not to get sucked into negativity and mainly to

conquer the fear of ego-loss.

so mainly, is it possible to use a psychedelic for beneficial

meditative purposes?

Anything is possible Misha. Because of that I do not recommend these

venues. Sometimes when we try to take a short cut with out doing some

of the harder and more difficult practices we can suffer for a time.

It can often feel as if it is an endless area of suffering. You will

do as you wish to do. Ego loss can be experienced with out the use of

drugs. As can many of the effects of drugs. Or entheogins or light

bearing plants. - Good Luck to you Misha -

I'm sure that for some people it's possible.

I know that the drugs I have taken in my past have

helped me get to where I am today.

I remember taking LSD and having the feeling that a

metal band that had been placed around my head was

removed and my mind opened, I felt the universe rush

in and was aware of my connection to it, I have never

looked back.

But I wouldn't recommend it for everyone.

Misha,

I recommend against using drugs. Meditation is not possible with

drugs, only psychedelic phenomena are. IMHO, you should be able to

rely on yourself only for your progress, rather than using dubious

tools that may just as easily backfire and create trouble for you.

If you are after the phenomena, meditation and pranayama can give you

plenty, but they'll also give you real spiritual progress. Not to

mention that meditation will enhance every aspect of your life by

fine-tuning the way your brain works. Drugs will induce altered states

of consciousness, but as they do so they can also cause considerable

neurological damage. Last but not least, drugs do not guarantee actual

spiritual advancement. If practiced correctly, meditation and

pranayama do.

Hi Misha

From my own experience I was inwardly guided to stay away from all

substances that were not a part of my natural unfolding. It was a very

STRONG guidance, with the words that other substances could open me up

to things that I wasn't ready for, and for entity attacks. So, I've

followed the guidance through the years, and have enjoyed the journey

immensely. Love, dhyana
