Guest guest
Today I was sitting in my BIG comfy chair reading my bible. I have three kitties and a doggie. One of my kitties loves to crawl on me when I am sitting or lounging so that she can knead on me and will simulate suckling. Today when she did it she was in the way of my bible and I couldn't read it and I firmly stated " Lexy you are in my way! " Suddenly I could feel God's presense. His presense was so strong, I felt as if I were able to see a thin silhouette, sort of like looking through a thin layer of water, of Him, His spirit enveloped my kitty, that is how strong his presense was. I instantly knew it was him and my heart fell to my tummy and the first thing I thought of was my being short with my kitty because she had walked in the way of my reading. I felt horrible, literally felt it, and told Lexy I was sorry. I felt really bad! I mean I wasn't nasty, just firm, but do realize she doesn't realize I am reading, she just wanted to be on me. I was bad and God surely had me feel it (bad). I saw God through Lexy! What a gift! Even if I was short with my kitty. I know he is here no matter what. LOL! I read somewhere that the sound of a cat purring was at the same vibrational rate as the human chest wall. The writer proposed that this is why cats in particular have such a calming effect, and have been shown to bring blood pressure down. They are certainly a gift from God/dess. Guest guest
It was great to read your response. I love your kitty's name " Sawyer " . My kitties all love to hang out around me, two on me and the other near me. The oldest one doesn't really like anyone touching her, but lately she wants to sleep wherever I have been sitting. I have heard the same thing about cats and health, actually cats and dogs reportedly have that attribute about them. Thank you for sharing Brandi, love stories. And yes, yes, yes, a BIG gift from God. Blessings to you Brandi. Love, Katherine Brandi Jasmine <jazztalk Thursday, January 17, 2008 6:24:28 PM Re: A Moment with God! Guest guest
Cats certainly are very knowing and spiritual creatures within their love and devotion. Perhaps not as transparently so as dogs. What's that saying: call a dog and he/she will come running. Call your cat and the response will be " I'll take a message...... " . I used to meet an elderly widower for coffee - a retired scientist and agnostic. One day I noticed a sad look on his face. I enquired about it and he said that in the prior week he'd been holding his beloved cat against his chest and was stunned to receive a message spelt out intuitively but ever so clearly in his mind: " I love you very much but will have to leave you soon...... " . He was puzzled because he was not prone to these insights and furthermore his darling cat seemed so physically healthy and robust. But 5 days later (the day before our meeting), he had found her peacefully passed away under his house. That earlier delivered message delivered was far richer and more meaningful than could have been the wording of any farewell letter. ================================ Brandi wrote: " My kitty Sawyer was born on Christmas Eve. The songs are awesome. >My kitties all love to hang out around me, two on me and the other near me. Guest guest
Awe, that made tears come to my eyes! That was so sweet! My chest is where my Lexy loves to lay and she loves to try to get hold of flesh to do her kneading on, usually around my neck and I have to keep moving her because once she starts getting into it her claws come out and they hurt. She is my sweety and she loves rubbing up against my neck and under my chin. All of my animals including my black lab are mommy's babies. They come to me for everything like my kids do and so I would love to know what they had to say to me. That would be the coolest! I think Shaw (male kitty) would say " Hey mom, you got some twizzlers or yogurt? " LOL! Lexy would say, " Hey rub me right here (her head)! " , Mittens would say " Hey don't touch, I am sleeping " or slap me in the head as she says " Hey I was there! " , and Annie (black lab) would say " Hey don't worry about them, just take care of me! " Actually since I have been progressing I have notice they all will hang out around me and sometimes, especially when I have a shaktipat will either be more attracted, or aren't sure about me. Same thing when I am meditating. It is funny how they are sensitive to things we do and what goes on with us. It would be amazing to know what they are thinking. Thanks for sharing your story with us, the is a remarkable example of the loyalty cats (and dogs in my opinion) have for their owners. Bless you my dear friend. Guest guest
Yeah, sometimes I can't get rid of my dog Sandy when I am meditating or sending healing. She is a Boxer/Lab mix, about 50 pounds and tries to get on my lap sometimes! Very distracting, lol. Sarita , Katherine Miller <katsam19 wrote: > > Awe, that made tears come to my eyes! Guest guest
Sarita, I know what you mean. Annie is about 96 lbs and tries to get on my lap while meditating. The other day Lexy crawled up and slept in my lap! Annie thinks she can do the same and like you it distracts me. lol. Guest guest
That made a tear come to my eyes too... all three of your stories. My dog Deebo and my grandson's cat Thigger stay glued to me most all day, especially Deebo. The cat likes to stay outdoors a lot. Deebo refuses to go out unless I go with him, most of the time. The cat seems to thinks he is a dog and the dog seems to thinks he is a cat a lot. So they are both catdogs...hehe! I talk to them all the time, just like they are humans and they do seem to know exactly what I am saying all the time. I don't always know what they are saying to me though. LOL! But I try. You should have seen Deebo when I was doing the compressed meditation. He had a worried look on his face when I tried rolling on the floor..I got the giggles and couldn't stop. When I got to the Hu Hu Hu jumping up and down part he was beside himself with worry. I had to stop for a sec and assure him that I had not gone completely bonkers. Guest guest
Katherine, That is an amazing story. I had a dog named Blackthorn, a Champion Australian Shepherd that I had since he was born. Last summer he was 14 years old and was in a lot of pain and would get frightened if I wasn't home with him, so I knew it was time to release him. About a month afterwards I had the most amazing dream. He came bounding up to me interrupting what ever it was I was doing. I said, just a minute Blackthorn, let me finish. And so he went bounding off, running for the pure joy of running, in a big circle, prancing and throwing his head up, pouncing on a stick, and I watched him the whole time, he was a young dog again, full of life and joy. He came back to me and I fell to my knees and hugged and kissed him and he pushed against me in a doggie love fashion and gave me many doggie kisses. Then he left. What a wonderful gift he gave me to let me know how happy he was and that he still loved me. Blessings and light Pat
