Guest guest
yesterday we went into mexico and walked around after some business tasks - there are vendors all over the place selling many different items - because it was sat there were many people and to leave the country to return to the u.s. one needs to be checked thru security - it took about 1 1/2 hours standing in line - we will return tomorrow and i pray to not a long line today sunday - what a beautiful day - it rained last night and continued thru today off /on hard then a soft sprinkle - so what is the big deal - rain? well they get about two rains /year and about 2 " a year so we are here during a very special time - this rain prepares the desert for the april bloom - love the rain - and to think how important it is here - we were excited - then - c decided to drive to organ pipe cactus monument - on the way we stopped at painted rock park - here is an old mound of rocks that have pictographs on them from thousands of years ago - it was considered a sacred place by the american indians and actually they are the ones who are sharing their heritage - c climbed to the top - not a long ways up and then i followed - at the top was a basin of water from the rain - water has been collecting in this basin for years /years - c had me cup some water and pour it over my head - a baptism into a new life - this morning i had dressed abit nicer than normal thinking we might go to church - i did not know the church would be outdoors in the rain at an ancient sacred ground and that i would be baptised- the baptism to me sybolizes my rebirth into a new way of life - a k way of life we then headed to organ pipe monument - it was dark by the time we arrived but we proceeded to look for the big cacti- in this one area the organ pipe cacti grow- only here in this one place - no where else on earth - and they can grow to be very large - the park also houses sajuaro another large growing plant - there were many other varieties one we had never seen before - we touched the large pipe organ and a sajuaro - saying hello -those plants now know us and we them - a beautiful forest of cacti - hundreds and hundreds all standing as sentinels in the desert some for many many years - to be in contact and to see these wonderful creations was pure joy - i now have the memory forever with me it so happens that today i also further surrendered to crism's teachings - those of you who have done this know how hard it can be - just to understand the depth of surrender is difficult - now i understand more fully the surrender Becky posted a few months ago that sparked an avid discussion on surrender - i now have a new matra that i will recite all the time - it is not as detailed as Becky's however it works for my understanding - i will send a separate post on this - california here we come -
