Practicing the Safeties

Hello All,

I am a newbie, trying to practice the safeties, and I am at a loss....

I have a question as well as a request. I get lost with the compression breaths,

I know it says to start off with a set of inhales (saying your 3 mantras) hold

for 3 mantras then exhale for 3 etc. doing this for 15 times to start out

with....

Is there, or has anyone put these compression breaths on a cd, if not how do you

keep track and not get lost??? If there is a cd out there that I can follow, can

I purchase it? Help....

This may be a good way to generate some funds for the group....if someone can

put something together for the newbies....I definitely would buy a cd to listen

to while going through the practice until it becomes second nature to me.

Thanks for you help and response in advance!

Love, Light and Blessings,

Genevieve

Hello Genevieve, that's a good idea, having it on CD would help, but

not everyone uses the same words for their mantra. Anyways, if you

loose count you're suppose to start over. *sigh* I loose count a

lot. :) The way I do it is, at the end of each set I mentally number

it and hope I don't forget what number I'm on when I get done with

the next set. LOL! I guess you could try keeping up with the count by

counting with your fingers, but that is a little hard to do since you

have to keep the finger locks in place while doing them.

I'm glad you ask though, I would like to hear how others do it.

Its fun to figure it all out! lol! I thought I had it down and then a

while back we were told to also use the finger locks when we do it.

hahahaha

I found a system that works well for me, so I'll share it.

I use my right hand, fingers locked, middle finger covers the nostril

being blocked each time; left hand, fingers locked, counts. (I keep

the left hand on my left knee and let each finger touch on its turn,

then I really don't need to count). " One, beginning with the little

finger, two moves to the ring finger, etc.. Full hand count three times.

Wow, explaining it is more complicated than doing it! Hope it helps

someone.

You are right Dhyana, it is fun trying to figure out how to do things especially

when you have to multitask! I enjoy it though! Thanks for sharing with us your

technique. It may help others. I do basically the same as you!

Hi Dhyana I too am a new… At first I had a hard time concentrating

and yes I lost track of how many I was doing. (Still do at times and

only started with 3 rounds of each) It's ok if this happens we are

not perfect and need to move along as the K allows us to. I have

accepted that my K knows where I am at and that all is well as long

as I am trying my best. I was told that we are not striving for

perfection and it's true. So I go along at the pace I am meant to and

I try not to panic when I feel it's not being done right or enough.

The fact is as long as I am doing my best then it is right for me and

I am moving along well.

LOL! Yeah I do a lot of starting over so I guess i do get a good

amount in. If I'm hving too much trouble I just ask Shakti to help me

do the right amount and do it until my intuition tells me it's

enough. :) Hehe! I think I heard somewhere that rules are made to be

broken.
