Dalai Lama on suffering

It is extremely important to investigate the causes or origins of suffering.

One must begin that process by appreciating the impermanent, transient nature of

our existence. All things, events and phenomena are dynamic, changing every

moment, nothing remains static. Meditating on one’s blood circulation could

serve to reinforce this idea: the blood is constantly flowing, it never stands

still….

Yes, Venugopal, the blood or breath, both are always moving,

changing. A good illustration. Thank you.

It seems, from my own personal experience at least, that so much

personal suffering is directly related to the Ego, the big I. This

could be said for the personal 'I' as well as the collective 'We', it

seems. If one could find a way to step back and be the little 'i',

the Observer that is detached from impermanet form or our physical

illusion, it would be perceived so differently. Not that I have

mastered this yet...I've only had glimpses but it seems to be the

direction I want to head. It feels like pure freedom. Oh, if I could

only get that Ego to shut up! Blah-blah-blah-blah! LOL!

Thanks for your insights. We appreciate you.
