Guest guest
I am writing from India, with a background of Indian beliefs and thoughts on the subject of spirituality. The attempt to awaken " Kundalini " is frought with dangers. Instead of becoming " Enlightened " one may become " Psychotic " . This is a real danger. Do not under estimate it. Here a Guru is of the greastest help. HG, th,e guru can guide the seeker, as a child is taken by his hand and lead through the path with utmost love and care. ThatGis the guru's role ! And if one has choosen the less dangerous path for liberation, remember, one who is visiting an unknown teritorry is always benefitted by the help of a guide who has already walked that path. A seeker is beset with innumerable doubts - can I eat this food ? Can I sleep this many hours ? Can I engage in this past time ? etc, an endless list of doubts. The guru can give pertinent guidance in all aspects of the Sadhana. Lastly, will you try to learn driving without an instructor. Or Swimming. Or cycling. Or mountaineering ? It is told that late Sir Edmund Hillary was successful in his venture to climb everest only because of the help of his guide Tensing Sherpa !! In the Indian tradition it is always advised to seek the help of a guru for learning Meditation or Yoga or Pranayama or any other such Esoteric teachings. With love and regards Venugopal Nick <cabalink wrote: High CV I seem to have been told this as well, in fact I was told that G-U-R-U stands for Gee you are you!!!!, which in the light of the progress of many seems to have value. This in no way detracts from those and their Gurus that have the benefit of a Guru and devotees, but finding one is easier said than done. blessings and love nick I have never ever had a guru and I am going ok. I am re-reading my book on Hinduism that I have had for years. In this new cycle, I dont think we all need gurus. CV Did you know? You can CHAT without downloading messenger. Guest guest
I agree with everyone when it comes to GURUS, we are our guru, this is true, but also, at certain times in our path we may need advice or guidance. A teacher will always appear when help is needed. Maybe a child is the guru, or the old man at the checkout. Maybe a yoga teacher or master yogi. Perhaps our mother or father or teacher. Or, maybe a family of wonderful people on a group! God is all of our guru and can be found within but sometimes a guide is needed to show parts of the path that are particularly precarious. Some may not need this at all and will make it all the way totally alone along the most difficult path and some may need help every step of the way. It's all good. Much love to all my guru's here, Elektra x x x ________ Sent from Mail - a smarter inbox http://uk.mail.
