Guest guest
Hello, I thought you may be interested in a Yogic Cleansing and Purification Course that I have just finished. Due to the cleansing and purification, I found that the Pranic channels (Nadis) were clearer and various Kundalini Kriyas were enhanced. Chakra activity was also easily perceptible and purer. Meditation was stronger. Relaxation was deeper. Life was more alive!!! I first did this course for about 5 months under the direction of my grand teacher Swami Dev Murti Ji in India during 1987 (about 20 years ago). In the intervening years I have done short courses for one or two weeks, but recently I was motivated to do at least a one month course. I started off by proposing a one week course to myself (and my wife), and at the end of each week we assessed the progress & status and decided to continue for another week. We stopped after the fourth week. This milestone-based approach reduces the stress and tension of thinking O-M-G One Month!!! This is a Triple-Fast Fast (Fast). Basically it combines three important aspects: 1. Almost a fast (see below) in the form of " the art of eating without eating " . 2. Daily exercise, as intense as possible without over exertion. The Bitter Tea (see below) loosens the fat cells and the exercise helps to use up the energy. 3. Daily allocation of at least one cup/mug of Bitter Tea. We all know that " Truth is Bitter " and this tea is bitter, that's the truth!! I don't know the name of the herb used, but it is from India. It is probably well known in the science of Ayurveda (ancient Indian medicine). (My guess is that any locally available medicinal bitter herb would be OK for this course.) You can clearly see from the above list that food input is reduced, energy reserves are used up, and cleansing & purification is initiated. Note: The primary objective of this course is Cleansing and Purification, and one of the side-effects is weight reduction. I have noticed many other side effects, all of a positive nature. For example: * Feeling lighter (not just because of the weight reduction) physically and mentally. * Movement is smoother. * Joints feel much better. * Sleep quality is improved. * Thinking is faster. The way we achieve a " virtual fast " while still being allowed to eat (ie eating without eating) is to follow these rules: No Sugar No Salt No Fruit No Oil No Tea/Coffee/etc No bread (For non Hindu people, please note that the above also assumes no meat/fish/birds/seafood/insects, no alcohol/drugs, no gambling, and no sex, since these usually increase hunger and hence spoil the course.) What we can have is: Boiled Vegetables Cooked Grains (rice, oats, mung, millet, but not too much wheat) Small amounts of milk, yogurt, and milk products I find that the Bitter Tea reduces the hunger reflex, so the fast is not so onerous, in fact it is enjoyable. Since air has no food value, it can be used to give the mind/body an impression of having eaten. My idea is to add two teaspoons of 100% cocoa powder (ie no sugar etc) to a glass of milk and froth it up with a manual or automatic whisk. It gives a great sense of satisfaction of having eaten, which lasts several hours. Cooked oats (without any salt, sugar, etc) also gives a similar effect. In the first few days there may be retching while drinking the Bitter Tea. This is a natural reaction from the body, but don't let it distract you from the course. After a few weeks, there may be a more subtle type of retching while drinking the Bitter Tea. This is a good indication that the cleansing is nearly complete. When the retching becomes too strong (but still comfortable) then you can choose to stop the Bitter Tea, although the food and exercise aspects can continue to the end of the course, as decided. In week 1, 2, 3, there was a loss of 0.4, 0.2, 0.1, Kg per day. In week 4 there was negligible loss. Most people should be able to do this, even without the Bitter Tea aspect. Bhavin.
