Guest guest
A certain gentleman has been disappointed with the KAS1 and myself in particular. He indicated to me his desire to leave the group. So that has been arranged. He implies that I am a cult leader and that this group is becoming a cult. He offered these url's to help us understand how we are becoming a cult or to help us understand the ways one becomes sucked into one. He is upset at me for posting part of a private e-mail he sent to me to the group and has remonstrated me for that, for which I take full responsibility. My apologies to him if he has felt disinfranchised by that. Even though his name was not mentioned. Believe it or not I do try to protect people's privacy. I wanted to show the group that indeed not all cater to my point of view and not all are supportive of it. So if anyone else is also having doubts here are some of those helpful urls. Feel free to lambaste me in public or private as the mood strikes. I take responsibility and do try to learn from my mistakes. **Be advised that I may post part of a persons e-mail to me without mentioning their name or pointing a finger towards the author in an attempt to learn and help others learn from my or any other mistakes.** Here are the helpful url's. " This group clearly has many characteristics of a cult " (eg see www.rickross.com website). For a brief example: http://www.orange-papers.org/orange-cult_q0.html lists (1. The " guru " is always right; 2. " You " are always wrong; 3.…). Also see http://surrealist.org/betrayalofthespirit/cult.html and http://www.prem-rawat-talk.org/forum/uploads/CultCharacteristics.htm. We all know that many people have multiple email accounts and multiple newsgroup memberships (and the newsgroup host monitors activity). Guest guest
ROTFLMAO! I mean no disrespect, but as I read those links I was laughing out loud. This information actually PROVES your case, rather than discrediting you. You are none of the things listed, we don't have drones here, we are encouraged to think for ourselves and follow our inner guidance, you constantly tell us how you are just a fellow traveller and nobody special. Geez, I could go on all night. Anyone who reads through that info with an open mind and heart will see that this is most definately NOT a cult, but in fact so far the opposite that it is astounding. Many thanks to whomever provided those links! ;-) Sarita , " chrism " <> wrote: > > A certain gentleman has been disappointed with the KAS1 and myself > in particular. Guest guest
I am surprised that the gentleman would think it was a cult. If we heap praise on Chrism, it is because many of us have had difficulties with KA, and he has helped us to find a way to make our spiritual path easier. I for one would never belong to a cult. The word Cultus means " care " and " adoration " . The big difference with us is that most cults give their minds to their leader and do what he says without question. We question all the time and have minds of our own. CV , " chrism " <> wrote: > > A certain gentleman has been disappointed with the KAS1 and myself > in particular. Guest guest
It isn't worth fretting or getting upset over. Every so often things like this will crop up and everyone is entitled to their opinion. If we allow any negative feelings to come from it, that just serves to lower the vibration of our family. We need to stay positive and send love to all, whether or not we agree with them. The word " cult " is really badly abused, maybe if we understand it a bit better, we can take the sting out of the word? According to Merriam Webster ... a cult is: 1: formal religious veneration : worship 2: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents 3: a religion regarded as unorthodox or spurious; also : its body of adherents 4: a system for the cure of disease based on dogma set forth by its promulgator <health cults> 5 a: great devotion to a person, idea, object, movement, or work (as a film or book); especially : such devotion regarded as a literary or intellectual fad b: the object of such devotion c: a usually small group of people characterized by such devotion By that definition any group of people who share a common interest is by definition a " cult " . The question is really is it a positive cult or a negative one? I do a lot of work with a personal growth group and they occasionally get hit with what I call " the 'C' word " ... in every case by a friend, relative or loved one who is afraid of the positive changes a person makes in the class. I say that the job of a negative or toxic cult is to create followers. That class has made its purpose to create leaders. What I like about this group is it seems to be about creating leaders. I don't see doing anything that would qualify him as a toxic cult leader, quite the contrary. I was raised in what amounts to a toxic cult. It was considered " mainstream " , but it had all the criteria going to qualify as a toxic cult. Many churches do, and it is not fair that they try to make themselves immune to such accusations, since as much abuse occurs there as it does anywhere else. Believe me, I am highly sensitive to anything that truly smacks of a toxic cult, and so far I have seen ZERO sign of that here. Guest guest
I did start to laugh, but then I had to shake my head, because someone thinks negatively about us. I would walk off this group if I even had the tiniest thought this was a cult. Everyone has a vice, everyone has their own beliefs. We're a Kundalini family here, full of advise and friendship. We only offer a helping hand when asked. The door is always open and we choose if we come or go, no pressure. It saddens me to think there are some who are frightened by a group that expresses love and knowledge. Guest guest
According to Wiki, " A cult of personality or personality cult arises when a country's leader uses mass media to create a larger-than-life public image through unquestioning flattery and praise. Cults of personality are often found in dictatorships but can be found in some democracies as well. A cult of personality is similar to general hero worship except that it is specifically built around political leaders. However, the term may be applied by analogy to refer to adulation of non-political leaders. " ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To make this religious. Think Benny Hinn, Falwell, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer - seems as if people follow them and can get almost violent when you disagree with them. Also think Oprah - she recommends a book and it becomes a best seller, she endorses a canditdate, she recommends a product and Badabing! They explode , Leshya <pleiades69 wrote: > > I did start to laugh, but then I had to shake my head, because someone > thinks > negatively about us. Guest guest
This tickled me - my sister and I were just talking about my new life and I was telling her how one of my dreams is of forming a K community. She then laughing said: " Just don't drink the kool-aid! " WE CRACKED UP!!! This sister has always been very supportive of anything I do and surprised me when I was on my way to meet chrism saying she did not want to meet him. Now she realizes that my coming out here to work with chrism was a good move for me and he is a trustworthy fella she has changed her mind. She offered to house us when we do a seminar in MPLS. And she is asking for prayers and good thoughts. I feel the change had to do with the positive energy that surrounds chrism and this group. My wish for all is that they find a community like this to be a part of. In this world environment one needs to be part of a loving and supportive community to exist. Life alone is just too hard in my opinion. It does not matter what we are called or what others think - we know who are are and what we are all about. And I am always amazed about the people and things that seem to come my way. Today I had a fella come over to fix a table - so who shows up but a member of an international yoga community - so we talked country music and Kundalini as he worked - so what is this all about? of all the handymen about I get someone who knows all about yoga and K - his community is run by goddesses - and he is an elder - what an interesting visit. Sometimes I think I have a K on my forehead that draws these people to me- I call myself a K - ambassador and I do so love the sharing with others. It is kind of like --- " be here and they will come " So here I " be " ready for whatever comes my way - and loving it. How about " Kultalove " Namaste Loro Event Coordinator Kundalini Awakening Systems1 707-478-4885 Never miss a thing. Make your homepage. Guest guest
Sounds like some wonderful things are happening ! It is synchronicity when we meet people we need to meet or books fall into our lap on a subject we were just wondering about. When we put those vibes out to the universe, it usually provides what is needed at just the right time. It's great isn't it? Get used to it because it will probably become a regular occurance now.
