Guest guest
@@@@I think expectations could actually hinder spiritual growth, so it's good to be asked what expectations we have.@@@@ I have read over everyone's post on this and ever since I have been wondering about this " no expectation thing. " I don't understand that. Being of a christain background we are taught one is to seek, ask, and knock and told that we do not recieve because we do not ask. When you ask for something, you expect to recieve it don't you? Could someone please explain this to me? How does expecting something hinder one's spiritual growth? If I am working diligently doing the safeties and Tibetans and all for the purpose of awakening, that is a form of putting one's expectation into actions even. To me, to do them with no expectation would be doing them for no purpose. Is it even possible to do an action, if there was no purpose/expectation/desire behind it? I think there must be something I am not getting/understanding about the 'no expectation' comments. Could someone explain to me what that is about? Guest guest
A short response would be that its the difference between ego macro management and micro management. Setting a goal and moving towards it without being in total control of how that goal is achieved. The middle path. Christians say " Let go and let God " I see it as similar to that statement. This goes very well with the Kundalini as well. You can set the stage but the divine will put on the show! - lol - chrism , " Linda " <crazycats711 wrote: > > @@@@I think expectations could actually hinder spiritual growth, > Could someone please explain this to me? Guest guest
Yeah, thanks, you put your intentions out there and let go and let God. That's the way it's done! That is what I believe. I understand that. I am just trying to understand the " Now " no expectation side of things better. Guest guest
Good one Linda! I think it is not so much a point of having some goals but more an attachment to the outcome, " if I don't get this I will be dissapointed... " Like some people say, it's the journey not the destination. If I do the yoga every day and just expect the spinal sweep and focus on that I probably won't get it, if I petition God ,whining , " Please God give it to me " I probably won't get it. The no expectations thing is more a way to allow surrender, a way of saying I want this but I let it go and allow God to decide how my destiny takes shape and flows. I want K but I won't focus on the end result , I'll let God work it out for me. Does this make sense? hope so...LOL Hugs Elektra x x x _________ Support the World Aids Awareness campaign this month with For Good http://uk.promotions./forgood/
