Guest guest
I had to share this, as you will all understand and this is something I haven't experienced before. I'm going to tell it as if felt the best I can. I was sitting at this computer reading posts when very plainly, in my mind I had the memory of my English father-in-law's sitting room as it was before he died. Books everywhere, things in disarray (not now as my Mum-in-law has done it up nicely). First I saw it then I felt like it felt when he was alive. You know, the presence of a person when they've been in the room or are still in a room even if you don't see them? So I thought, " Peter? " and I got butterflies in my gut, like excitement so I took that for a " yes " . " Is it really you? " again butterflies but less intense. I asked if he was alright. Again, tummy excitement/flutters. I sent him love and thanked him for coming to me. I asked if he could " visit " John (my hubby) and I got a confused, anxious feeling in my gut (no?). I thought to him (telepathy) that John has been doing meditation 2 times a day now and he might be open to him now. I got a confused sensation. I said I thought I'd have to break now as I felt my attention fading and honestly was feeling a bit overwhelmed with what was happening. Again I sent him love, asked if he saw his granddaughter (excitement) and I asked him where he thought she got her bull-headedness from ( I got joy, laughter). At that I snapped back to being present in the here and now sitting in front of my computer. Wow! Did that just happen? My heart was racing and adrenaline pumping like I'd just had a large espresso! ( I hadn't, just herbal tea). Does this sound like a familiar way of talking to the deceased to anyone that has that ability? It's a first for me! And I'm blown away that it was all internal! Not the misty image of a man standing in the room near me or any sort of physical phenomenon. You could say it was all in my head, like remembering last night's dream but it wasn't " me " , I'm sure of that. I'd love anyone's comments or input...I'm still just in awe of what happened! I don't dare tell my husband! Love, Valarie
Guest guest
Wow, Valarie, that sounds like you did indeed have a visit with your father in law. I have never experienced anything like that but, believe me, I am sure hoping and praying that my dad will come to me when he is finished with his 'orientation' and acclimation period (it's just been 10 days since he transitioned). From what I have read, the dead will come to you in any way they can, using mind images or odors or sounds (aside from dream visitations, which I experience with my nephew), so it is entirely valid that your father in law put that familiar image in your mind then 'answered' your questions using your gut. I know that Sarita has had some experience in this area...I'm sure she will offer you some feedback. That's very encouraging to me, so thanks for sharing it! Guest guest
Claudia, from my own experience, I will tell you to look for him to visit you first in your dreams or hypnogogic state. Sometime in the first month or 2 after passing has been my experience. It's brief and they may only smile at you but it's their way of saying, " Look I'm still here! " I've had this happen several times since losing loved ones or friends. At first I thought it was strong wishful thinking but I now believe it was definitely the spirit/essense of the person I loved visiting me. It's happened too many times to just be my wishing strongly to communicate one more time. Yes, there will be acclimation and issues to be looked at before he can be able to attempt a contact. But I truly believe it will come. And it will give you joy to draw upon for years to come! I still remember each of mine vividly. Love, my K-sister! Guest guest
Hey, Valarie, sounds like you did get a chance to catch up with your father in law! What a lovely experience! I am sure your father in law was just as excited and happy as you are. I had something somewhat similar, though less elaborated, with my deceased grandparents. On two occasions--one particularly tense, and one joyous--I felt their presence as embodied in me through my own emotions. Just a sensation, so to speak, but not an ordinary one. In fact, it came across as a very clear, though internal, presence. I guess when we are on the other side we can find ways to tune in into physical people's own energies/emotions to communicate with them. Guest guest
Great experience Valarie!! I have some experience in this area and for me spirits come through feeling, thought and my mind's eye. Pretty much the way you are describing. I usually get some kind of visuals and may receive blocks of words in my mind. If you would like to try to contact him again, I can tell you how I do it. I " zone " out and my surroundings tend to disappear. I can reach this state within 30-60 seconds, but I have heard it takes some people much longer. Once you are relaxed and zoning you can speak with him telepathically and then wait for an answer. It can come in many different ways, so try not to be attached to him using any particular method. The biggest piece of advice I have is to leave your personal filters behind. Report or record what you receive EXACTLY AS IT COMES IN. Don't make any assumptions. Just journal the experience and worry about figuring it out later. The mistakes I made with messages I received was when I let my own perceptions color the information. Sometimes I felt silly saying it as it came because " i " didn't think it made sense, lol. It always seemed to make sense to the recipient of the message though! If you have any questions, feel free to email me off list! Guest guest
I agree with Valarie, that's how it has happened in my experience too. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this cool experience with us Valarie. When I was a child I could see them, just as plain as day, not just misty images, either. Now, I can only sense their presence, much the way you did there, but have not really communicated with them that way. That is really cool. Some time after my mother-in-law passed away, I was in the kitchen cooking supper and a picture flew off the wall and almost hit me. I knew it was her, saying hello. LOL! I really loved my mother-in-law, she was the greatest. Always telling jokes, laughing and cutting up. Before she died, many times, she had said when it comes time for her burial, she hope there would come up a cloud and soak everyone really good. Well, it did. LOL! It was her way of letting us all know she was there watching on. I knew she was having a good belly laugh.
