Guest guest
thank you everyone for your advice. i understand that the symptoms are different for everyone, but if you feel nothing... how do you know anything really happened? the advice of " just believe " to me sounds like it could all be placebo. i'm trying to be open, i really am. i'm just overly skeptical :/
Guest guest
I think skeptism comes from the mind, and the mind is ego based. The whole point of any journey is that to get there you have to let go. Keeping the car in the garage won't get you far. If you want to make the journey give it your all like a child. Only the mind limits us. I wouldn't say the best advice is " just believe " at all, I would say " just BE " . Guest guest
One of the definitions of faith is: " belief that is not based on proof. " Sometimes we need to take things on faith. If we demand to be shown proof, we are likely to be disappointed. Rather than bells and whistles, I would look to the changes that take place within myself. Over time, you will see changes in yourself for the better. If you are following the Safeties, you will become more tolerant of others, have the desire to do selfless service, forgive all trespasses, begin to have inner communications that will nudge you in the right direction. You may have phenomena, you may not. Try to remember that phenomena is fleeting, but the changes made in us by following the Safeties is lasting. It is not easy, but nobody ever said it would be and I question whether it SHOULD be! Nothing worth having ever was handed to us on a silver platter. I wish you (and everyone else in our family here) a blessed Shaktipat! All is placebo, from the quantum point of view. >i'm trying to be open, i really am. i'm just overly skeptical :/ The spiritual bells and whistles are irrelevant if nothing else changes. If there are positive changes in your life, if your growth accelerates, then you know something really happened. All the spiritual bells and whistles are just that. Mother Teresa went through many years without them, and look what she accomplished. Brandi
