Guest guest
Self Discipline #3 Another area of self discipline that I am working on is learning how to say what is on my mind in a more appropriate manner. I have always been an open wear my emotions on my sleeve blunt person. It has served me well until this past year. It is hard to stop and think what I am about to say. It seems very unnatural for me, but I have to learn this important self control. I find myself stopping and taking a breathe – who suggested this? It does work. When I think of all the heartache and pain I caused myself by blurting out my thoughts it is staggering to me. The other thing that will help in this matter is when I have a better grasp of how to operate under the new ways of handling things. Once it becomes more a part of my knowledge base it will be easier to know what and how to say things. First comes the attitude then the words then the actions – I see all of this as an evolution in remapping my thought processes. Thank you for listening eilrrn
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this ! I have had this problem myself in the past and I have changed a lot the past few years. I still have to bite my tongue at times, but I find those instances fewer and farther between. As you go through these stages, you will also find that things that really angered you before will just roll off your back. Some things just aren't worth putting forth our energy on, they dont' really matter in the big scheme of things. Keep up the good work! I am so enjoying reading your journey! Guest guest
Thanks Sarita; I anxiously await the time when my anger is minimal. I waste so much energy on things that do not matter.
