Guest guest
Yahweh, the One who revealed Himself to Abraham and called out a Nation, the Jews...who, miraculously, are still in existence to this day. My roots are Jewish. At a major crisis point in my life I called out to this One. " God of my Fathers, if you really exist, I put my life in Your hands. I can't do it anymore. " I was filled with a Love that melted me, with the sensation of being held close in someone's arms. I heard a gentle voice in my mind that said, " I've always had you. " From that point on He has been there for me, leading and helping. So when you talk about Yahweh, I experience feelings of deep love and gratitude. That's another side of Him. Guest guest
Wow! that is so cool Dhyana, I had much the same experience with Jesus. I am glad there is another side to Yahweh, but the other side is so hard for me to except. How can it be? A God who supposily loves unconditionally, but at that point and other times desired to destroy what he created and did so with the flood. How can it be both? It's a good thing he had a merciful, forgiving side or the Hebrews nor Jews would not be. And all the other nations, what was his purpose of creating them only to kill them. To prove some point? That seems so very cruel. And his loving one person more so than another. It's just hard for me to picture God as having favortism. That seems soooo....very human. Guest guest
When I was heavily involved in Buddhism years ago, I met HH the Dalai Lama, and he looked at me and said straight away I needed to go back to my roots. I smiled and accepted what he said. I delved into my Celtic roots and the ancestors, and I have to say that it is a great thing. Their blood is running through our veins, and they know us so well. They say heaven is only an inch away from us, but also so is the ancestors. Guest guest
I too have been very interested in my ancestors the past year or so. I have been calling on them to help guide me along my path - with the collective ancestral energy I feel I am in good hands. I also feel that there were probably a number of them who were k active. Yes it is good to know where one came from - and good to keep in touch with the ancestors who have gone before and have the " knowing " , " celticvoice6 " <celticvoice6 wrote: > > When I was heavily involved in Buddhism years ago, I met HH the > Dalai Lama, and he looked at me and said straight away I needed to > go back to my roots. Guest guest
One of the great things about the revelation of Ha Shem (which means The Name; Jews never try to pronounce the unpronounceable) is that 'he' is One. The name means " That which was, That which IS, That which will be. In the Shema (the listen-up), it says " Hear O Israel, the Lord our G-d, the Lord is One. " It then goes on to say " Thou shall love the Lord your G-d with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength. " When Moshe asked G-d who should he say sent him to Pharaoh, he was told to say the " I AM sent you " (Beingness). Wouldn't you say the Ancient Secret Teaching, the Ageless Wisdom, basically boils down to the difficult to perceive fact that all is One? To surrender to the Divine brings us into direct contact with a mystery, THE Mystery, of which we can partake when we open up to it. Isn't this (the so-called secret teachings) part of what we are about here? _____ On Behalf Of novalees Monday, March 17, 2008 10:58 PM Re: The Ancient Secret Teachings - Yahweh Yahweh, the One who revealed Himself to Abraham and called out a Nation, the Jews...who, miraculously, are still in existence to this day. Guest guest
Thank you for that...it resonated with me well. I so respect the Dahli Lama. I am of Celtic background (Irish, Scots, Welsh with some English thrown in) and though not brought up with any of the knowledge or history of that culture (I'm American) I am drawn to it. So yes, it's there so close I can't see it! As are my ancestors, some of whom I am blessed to have pictures of up on my wall. I see them everyday! LOL Your words encourage me to dig deeper. Thanks, CV. Love and hugs, Valarie
