Actually Elektra, if you go back and read my post, I said that I

did " not " believe that Lucifer and satan are the same being. In fact

I don't think lucifer was a being at all. The word lucifer is

mentioned only once in the bible (but not really) in Isaiah 14, those

verses are actually speaking of a fallen Babylonian king. This King's

name was Helal, son of Shahar, which was translated as Day star, son

of the Dawn and then was translated as lucifer which was Greek or

Latin for the planet Venus, the morning star. One can see where

misunderstandings happened there. Misunderstandings happen when

people take verses out of context or misinterpert words.

 

I have read somewhere that the Jews did not have a belief of a

devil/satan like the Christian religion does. Do you know if that is

so, Dhyana? There is only two place in the old testament that the

word satan is use. That is in the book of Job 1:6 and Zec. 3:2. In

these verses Satan is one of the angels on the council of God. He is

the angel who's job it was to accuse or put man to a test. LOL! It is

only in the new testament that he became an evil being or devil.

 

In Genesis 3 the word used is serpent and it doesn't say anywhere

there that the serpent was a fallen angel called lucifer. In fact, if

you go read Genesis 3:1 it say the serpent was the craftiest of any

of the wild beast of the field that the Lord God made. It doesn't say

the serpent was evil, but only that man allowed the beast to mislead

them. The serpent was one of the beast/animals that was created is

the way I see it. It is only in comentaries or people's interpts that

the serpent or dragon became lucifer/satan.

 

In my NIV bible, at the back there is a concordance and the word

lucifer is not even mentioned there at all. That word is not in the

bible.

 

If one would read the new testament and everywhere it mentions the

word satan or devil, if you replace that with ego it would fit and

make sense. LOL! Just a thought! I see the devil or satan used

symbolicly as the personification of man's ego. JMHO! Take it or

leave it. I don't believe God created anything evil or any untruth,

it is man, the co-creators who did that with their limited finite

minds.

 

I am a Preterist christain and believe the prophecies in the book of

Rev. were fullfilled in 70 A.D., all that is left is for each

individual to go through their own personal armageddon/lake of fire

for cleansing...awakening or transformation. The " way " which Jesus

taught to do this is through a loved based foundation and service to

others. Jesus taught to put the old man (sinful selfish ego self) to

death and rise up a new person living in the anointing power of the

Holy Spirit, which is a transfroming cleansing power/fire. Now that

I understand kundalini more, I can see where it all fits perfectly.

Hi Linda -

 

Not that I am an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but I

used to know a " white witch " who did or does a lot of work helping

folks with black stuff. According to her, Lucifer is NOT satan.

The title of Satan is passed around like a dictatorship and

currently an unnamed demon is the title holder. Just some info

fwiw.

Could be Milissa, I know our fears and other emotions create thought

forms in the astral that can materialize as more and more emotions

and thoughts are projected upon the belief,reinforcing it and it then

takes hold. I believe we really do create our realities and

eventually some of those realities become collective. When it becomes

collective it materializes for all, I think that is how it works. The

100 monkey effect theory.
