Guest guest
1. See yourself as sitting on an open air platform at the very front of a locomotive, eyes facing forward, legs dangling over the edge, all that can be heard is the quiet rhythmic sound of the piston throbbing of the engine. You're being carried along the straightest rail track ever built. Your view is unbroken, unswerving and stretches ahead forever and ever, as the far horizon melts into the heat haze. There are no interruptions, no reality checks. Time and place become un-signposted - and you merge into the infinite chasm of the unknowable and its limitless potential. Now, only silence and the incoming suction of changelessness remain. 2. You're looking with ambivalence into a blank canvas, all that the closed eyes will permit you to see. So the mind conscripts intensity to build ferocity of focus. But the inner space sees the futility, groans and contorts as if pleading that " more is less " . " Please let the streaming cease! " . A deeply felt need demands that the mind's receptors should no longer feel as if they are being trodden down like grass under footballers' feet. Intuitively there is a need to effortlessly hold on to nothingness without running from the sensation of loss of identity, an outcome at which the mind emotively points its threatening finger. But, persevering with free float, the grip loosens on the reins of the here-and-now. Still, like a punch drunk fighter, the mind again lashes out accentuating heightened vulnerability which sees the acrobatics on the rafters of the mind rush into play. Indeed, the legs of the mind can become like those of a centipede searching for traction, as the panic of loss is replaced by a striving for recovery. But holding on to nothingness for increasing periods of time, allows the walls of the shaft of perception in the mind to become wider and deeper. The focus is suddenly fragmented into an unmapped, stream of awareness, devoid of cultural relevance, agenda and purpose. The mind floats in perfect balance with its most subtle antennae open to energy streams from all directions. With wisdom from that inner space, you kick off and downwards with trust and surrender. As the body capitulates, relaxation of muscle and bone slide seamlessly into lowered breathing, pulse and responsiveness. The randomness of thought intrusion is gone. The journey can now begin.....
