Guest guest
I was reading through one of the journals my mom used to write her thoughts and poems in and I found this poem that I wanted to share with you. I now see it in a different light, than before! When my mom died she was able to experience this. About 10 minutes before her death she reached out grabbing what appeared to be a hand and she began breathing normally again; her breathing had become laboring throughout the day to where my family was given a machine by Hospice to use to help her, but she never needed it. After she grabbed the hand, she laid back with a brilliant smile on her face knowing she would not be in this cold world much longer, but in the constant Eternal Spring living an eternal Life with God. She always wrote about God and about angels. She has been gone from this earth 18 years this month, April 11. Mom I really miss you! Hope Though Summer days are beginning to lend themselves to winter nights-- Though leaves of read and gold will soon turn brown and start to strip Winter's trees to nakedness, Til their souls are cared In a cold dark world I bask in the sun-strewn skies Where thoughts and visions of you appear. They wrap me As a woolen blanket; They shelter my heart From winter's envy, From icy winds that whistle, teasing me, taunting me, Trying to make me cold again. When cloudy days arrive, You become the only sun I need; And at nighttime, the stars are just the sparkle In your eyes. I hear no howling, cruel killing wind; The only sound that touches me Is the joyousness of your laughter, The sincerity and feeling in your voice. Your face lights my world, And your eyes outline its boundaries; Beyound that, there is no air I could breathe and soon would die, But for the eternal closeness of you, Your caring, Your touching me from afar. One day, some day Winter has to end, I have no doubt. I must believe in order to Be, The the veill will be lifted, The fog that keeps us apart will disappear, And I can reach out and truly touch you, And we will come together. Spring, Eternal Spring will poke its head Stubbornly through the snow, An we will be One. By Alice Betty Hayes Diggs Love, Katherine
