Guest guest
I finally have it! I know this has been discussed before, so posting this is mostly for my own benefit more than anything, so just bear with me, but I hope if there is anyone else who might need it, it will benefit them as well. Some might wonder what `speaking in tongues' has to do with Kundalini and the Holy Spirit, well I will tell in just a few minutes. In reading the Bible and doing some research of my own I have found some of the answers to my questions I have been searching! Today especially, a couple of the main questions I have and have had for a while have been revealed to me. Those questions are concerning the Holy Spirit and the Kundalini; and why some people have spontaneous Kundalini awakenings and others have to work at it. Here recently Nicole had experiences with unusual language during chanting; when I first read about it, my first thoughts `she is possibly speaking in tongues'. I didn't say anything of course, but soon Linda did. That prompted me to do some research on `speaking in tongues'. I have always heard about it, knew a little about it; the basics, but never really paid much attention to it until this last year or so. I have read about it numerous times in the Bible as being a gift of God after receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Well, I always thought that receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit was the same thing as being baptized in water, but according to my research it isn't the same thing; they are two different things entirely. With baptism in water, you are washing away your sins from the past and asking for salvation, receiving the baptism in the Holy Spirit, one is filled with the Spirit of God. Here are some verses from Acts, even though I have read them many times, I finally am just now whole- heartedly understanding them and linking them to the Kundalini! YESSS! I do earnestly understand it now; well at least this part of it and I am sure there will be more things to ponder and research in days to come. Here are the verses: Acts 1:4-5; 2:1-4, KJV And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.... [2:1] And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. There are other verses in the Bible, but I feel this is sufficient to get my point across to ME! As I said, this is more for me because I have found that in writing it out and telling someone that it helps me grow and learn. Anyway, when one receives the baptism in the Holy Spirit, one of the most common signs is speaking in tongue. Although some receive the gift of speaking in tongue when baptized in water, it really has nothing to do with the water baptism; it has to do with the receiving of the baptism in the Holy Spirit at the same time. Some people have received the baptism in the Holy Spirit without being baptized in water, some at the same time as in water, and others a while after being baptized in water, and some are never baptized in the Holy Spirit. Therefore, I now can honestly say that I understand fully that Kundalini and the Holy Spirit are the same. Anyway, I wanted to share this with all of you! Thanks for being who you are! Guest guest
Thanks Kat for sharing your thoughts. I already knew there was a difference between being baptized in water and baptized in the Holy Spirit. It was one of the things that disappointed me about the church. They offered a service to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and expected us all to immediately start speaking in tongues. They actually encouraged us to make " baby sounds " and kind of fake it until it happened. I refused to do this and left there feeling like a failure, as though God didn't want me. A few weeks later I spontaneously started speaking in tongues. That was back in 1994. I will sometimes start speaking in tongues when I pray and I feel that it is our way of talking directly to God through our hearts. There is no hiding anything because we don't know what we are saying. Our higher self is free of the ego to just give it up to God. There are a number of gifts that are listed in the bible that can be given once we are baptized in the Holy Spirit. Here is a passage from Corinthians: 1 Corinthians 12 (King James Version) King James Version (KJV) Public Domain 1 Corinthians 12 1Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. 2Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as ye were led. 3Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 4Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. 7But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; 9To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; 10To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues: 11But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will. 12For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 13For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14For the body is not one member, but many. 15If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 16And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 17If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 18But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 19And if they were all one member, where were the body? 20But now are they many members, yet but one body. 21And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 22Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 23And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 24For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked. 25That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 26And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 27Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? 30Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? 31But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. , " Katherine " <katsam19 wrote: > > I finally have it!
