Recapitulation is the process of recovering lost parts

of our energy through forgiveness and surrender.

I know a great excercise for recapitulation from a

Shamanic practice.

The Shaman believes that past pains and hurts rob us

of our power, to be a fully empowered shaman we need

to recover or " recapitulate " our power.

So, there is a ceremony (just one of many methods).

By the full moon ideally.

You think back through your life and think of the

person/event that caused you the most pain and start

with this.

You take an excercise book and sit alone, think of the

person/situation and write the whole of your thoughts

and feelings about this time in the book, try to be as

open and flowing as possible, allow the emotion to

fill the book, leaving the body aand soul, put your

all in to it, the more you put in the more you can get

back.

When you have finished the writing you make a fire ,

make it with all your care and attention, place stones

or power objects related to the event around the fire.

You then place the book in to the flames and feel the

event leaving you, bathe in the smoke, breathe it in

if you can, the smoke is the purified power returning.

Make friends with the smoke.

Watch the flames consume the book until the very last

ember of the fire has gone out, go in to the flame

with your intention.

As the last ember goes out say out loud an innvocation

to the universe that you feels suits the end of this

event.

Surrender it.

Take the ashes to water and wash them away, ideally a

river but a sink will do at a pinch!

This really worked for me, in particular this can be

used to re balance the mother/father principle within

us.

If you like ceremonies that is.......
