Guest guest
Lately I have been taking more frequent meditation sessions. Many stints each day of 20 minutes or so and my head and crown chakras are now swirling continuously in and out of that practice. I can't go beyond about 20 minutes as the thought intrusion forces seem to grow in their oppressiveness. I'm reluctant to use anchors such as mantras or listening to breathing patterns as I want to distance myself from " busyness " within the meditation process. I feel that there must be a point where that unbroken continuum finds its own life force and the duality of walking the tightrope vanishes into oblivion but not yet for me !! Also the more frequently I meditate, the more I feel heat rising into my scalp and a sort of nerve-related left ear-ache seems to trickle down into my neck with a few sharp spasms then ceasing. I had a powerful dream last night which included the normal personal confrontations of a life long since past - but a school friend with whom I have lost touch, kept whispering that in order to keep moving forward, I must learn the meaning of the word " covalence " (or covalency). He said that I had fallen at that hurdle and might have to regress to digest the lesson. It's a word I've never used in the past and it still fails to make sense to me. It's gratifying to see so many new members, each with a very interesting story to tell - thank you so much for joining us - and also a big thank-you to Chrism, to Glen and to the " welcomers " for your nurturing, guiding presence on this Group site. Love - John. PS. Chrism, I am following the Safeties and ask to be included in the Summer Solstice Shaktipat.
Guest guest
Covalence is a discription of the forces that hold the electron in place around the atom. Covalent bonding as I recall. Here's what the dictionary tells us. - --- ----------- covalency or US covalence Noun Chem 1. the ability to form a bond in which two atoms share a pair of electrons 2. the number of covalent bonds which a particular atom can make with others _____________ From a Kundalini standpoint I would equate this to the balance between the sacred Male and Female in the bonding that occurs with regard to the sacred marriage. - blessings John and thank you as well for the many people you help and contact and allow to know they are not alone and there is a place to come for information. So many have been directly assisted because of your efforts. Thanks again John! - chrism , " " <...> wrote: > I must learn the meaning of the word " covalence " (or > covalency). Guest guest
It's good to read a report from you John! Sounds like lots of good stuff is starting to happen. Not sure how it's related, but maybe you need to ask Shakti during meditation and see what answer you get. Sarita , " " <...> wrote: > > Lately I have been taking more frequent meditation sessions. Guest guest
Hi Sarita and Chrism, your info prompted me to search for references to covalence+kundalini for which there are a few sites and I'll check them out. Thanks for your thoughts - I just hope I didn't misread the dream message as pointing to my next address. Co(n)valescent homes (bless their staff and residents) aren't my choice of fun places !! Guest guest
Another thought about covalence... A covalent bond is a form of chemical bonding that is characterized by the sharing of pairs of electrons between atoms, or between atoms and other covalent bonds. In short, attraction-to-repulsion stability that forms between atoms when they share electrons is known as covalent bonding. This is from Wikipedia. So covalence is about a fine balance between opposite forces, which could have to do with the opposing forces of mental focus and mental surrender that you are having problems with during meditation...'walking the tightrope,' as you described. The " attraction-to-repulsion stability " is what is intruiging to me---sounds very active, like it's more than simply surrendering. Almost suggesting that the struggle is essential to the fine balance (the " unbroken continium " ) you are seeking... My thoughts, hope it helps. Great to hear from you John!! Guest guest
Hi John Covalence or more specifically covalent bonding is the sharing equally of two electrons between two nuclei in a new and common orbital to both nuclei, and in such a way that the shared electrons are no longer identifiable with either of the nuclei. In your context I would interpret the 'loss of covalence' as having fallen out of that closeness that you enjoyed with him or someone in the past ie you are now a separate entity again having broken that bond with him or some other person once special in your life. Just my take on it. blessings Jonathan , " " <...> wrote: > > Lately I have been taking more frequent meditation sessions. Guest guest
Thanks Claudia, that's a very useful insight - I'll ponder that for some time - Love - John ============================ Claudia wrote: " Another thought about covalence...
