Chrism,

 

Over the past year, I have found this to be a surprisingly powerful

and effective prayer. Your description of the " thickening " and a

feeling of " hardening " is very accurate in my case. Occasionally,

when the energy is running high, I will get the sensation of my flesh

turning into " scales " from the bottom upward. It may sound weird (or

even gross), but for me it is actually a beautiful and miraculous

feeling.
