Guest guest
No drug will cause prolonged hallucinations as in " flashbacks " ; there was a myth put out by the government that LSD would be deposited in the brain and later would come out causing the person to re-trip. This is your government on drugs. This doesn't mean that people won't experience the feelings, thoughts, images, etc from drug experiences especially if there was fear or any strong emotion to anchor that way of seeing the world. If someone is prone to letting their experiences run wild they can produce in themselves the whole drug thing without the drug, just as people will reexperience traumatic events in PTSD. The question on spinal sweeps, I'll leave to Chrism, except to say that years ago in a galaxy far, far away, I did experience them while taking psilocybin. I got a lot from the experience, and don't ever want to repeat it. There is little evidence of the pineal/dmt/schizophrenia connection, so the cause of the drug's effect is most likely the drug itself and what the person brings to it. The body does produce natural hallucinogens that are responsible for dreaming and probably other states of consciousness. Research in this area is vital because of the insight it can give us into mental illness, but also disorders that are connected with neurotransmitters. For instance, schizophrenia is connected with (too early to say caused) high levels of dopamine. On the other hand, Parkinson's is associated with low levels of dopamine. As for what causes schizophrenia, the best theory that I've come across lies somewhere between we don't know and a wide variety of things. There is a good entry in wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schizophrenia. For those of you interested in this subject, I suggest you read PiHKAL (Phenethylamines i Have Known And Loved: A Chemical Love Story) and TiHKAL (Tryptamines i Have Known And Loved: The Continuation), by Sasha and Anne Shulgin. Sasha Shulgin is a chemist who has discovered over 200 psychoactive drugs. When he finds one that might be interesting he invites over friends to sample them and submit reports of their experiences. I know this sounds iffy at best, but for these drugs there is not a lot to be learned by giving them to animals. His wife, Anne, is a psychologist who combined therapy with intactogens like MDMA and hallucinogens like 2-c-b. She no longer practices because of the government crackdown; Sasha is still in his lab producing new, as yet, legal drugs. I believe that the government was hasty in making these substances illegal for research in controlled therapeutic sessions. The easy and wrong way to understand the effects is to assume that the drug is doing it all. That's way too simple. Whatever experience one may have comes from the drug, but also what we project onto the experience; and because of that I think there probably is a place for them in legitimate therapy. For example, when LSD was first being investigated by psychologists up in Canada, of all places, they wanted to find a cure for alcoholism and they supposed that by giving alcoholics LSD they would have " bad trips " and would be trained to give up drinking. They in fact did get good results, but not because of any bad trip. What they found was that the LSD allowed the subjects to experience insight and empathy for the people in their lives that they were hurting by drinking. MDMA probably has a lot more usefulness in therapy because of it's characteristic of increasing empathy, much of this early research on that was done by Anne Shulgin. It has also begun to be investigated for easing the anxiety of people dieing of cancer and for PTSD. Chrism and Melissa, please feel to comment and set me straight (pun intended) if I'm off base. Please everyone also realize I have not advocated irresponsible drug use. I don't think that's helpful, but it's a free country. Guest guest
Nice Post Peter!, You are assuming of course that the US gov. has the best interests of its citizens at heart. - lol. Ayahuasca has been shown to have definitive results in the repeal of multiple forms of addiction, cigarettes, alcohol, eating disorders to name a few so it is , of course, illegal. Let me see if I can get Dr. Margarita to sit up straight at the bar here. Chrism: " Come on doc that makes ten Margarita's perhaps you have had enough..? " Dr.Melissa Cloer MD.: " WWWHadyamean? Donnn..(belch!) nn...DONN...Donnnn yougoltryintatell me when ives hads enoughs!@#$%^% $#@! Whos za F%$#@ do yuoze sinks you arf....tellin me iz dinkered enoufz.,.. I means drinkeyz..I mean dreeeznks...OH..#@#@$ it you snow whats I meenz.... " Hey Bat Ranger! I mean barzkeepsers!Giv me andthe @#%$#ing Guru here anozer. " Chrism: " Yes thanks I'll have another cranberry juice please " Dr.Mellisa Cloer MD.: " F$%Ken CRANBERRY JUICE?? Batkeeper!...I mean Barsneeper! PUT SOME balls in it for em heh! heh!Gitthem little crankzberriez a f....afugh...drytiilogeghzm....(belch!)..ohmy!...I gotta go to the bazfroom.....zarestromz...quick!.. I theekz Imzinna blow!...ugghhh! " While the Docs in the bathroom having a conversation with her Margarita's....Let me say that in my opinion the USA's and in many cases the worlds addiction to alcohol is one of the worst addictions currently legalized. Not mentioning the other epidemic of SSRI addictions. Also legal. Not mentioning the current (enforced) attacks on the immune systems of infants and children. Or the sponsered pharmacuetical drugs and other very harmful drugs currently being created for " diseases " that are also currently being created. Oh and lets not forget the chemtrails. So we are indeed challenged by our own species here in the west. The greed and fanstasy of power over others has corrupted and unleashed torrents of deadly agendas to be inflicted on a complacent public. None of these drug addictions or experiements are good for the Kundalini. When I write the word " pure " I mean in this case " PURE " with out the mental and physical addiction to a substance that is psychoactive or otherwise. I do realize that as afore mentioned there are some toxins not in control of the general public so do your best. Shakti can help pick up where your personal situation leaves off. My take on it - PS Dr Melissa Cloer MD is not a drunk my any stretch! But she does kick off her shoes now and then especially if someone has driven out from California to visit. I think its an OKLAHOMA thing! - lol - c Kundalini-Awakening-Systems- 1 , " peter.nichols " <peter wrote: > > No drug will cause prolonged hallucinations as in " flashbacks " ; there > was a myth put out by the government
