Guest guest
Hello, friends, I think I may have had my first " dream teaching " and just thought I would share it. In the dream, I was entering a meditation hall to hear Ven. Thubten Chodron give a teaching. My mother and father were with me and they were very excited, which was odd, because they are not into that type of thing, if you know what I mean. Into the room came a procession of monks and nuns: 3 in the front, then what I thought was Ven Chodron, then 3 behind. Except they were not wearing the plain maroon robes of Tibetan Buddhists, they were dressed far more elaborately in a more India type style. Ven Chodron was covered from head to foot in exotic material. I remember thinking " her face is veiled " and indeed, it was completely covered in a tight fitting material with two holes for the eyes. Very young, strikingly beautiful blue eyes peered out. She had what appeared to be two straight horns sticking out of her head, quite long but skinny. These were also elaborately decorated. She then began teaching for quite some time. The only thing I consciously remember was that she said I would benefit from having a consistent practice that started at 6 am every morning. And that my ego would " bump " up against her and that it would need to " give way " . She was quite forceful and confident about my ego needing to give way to her. It was only after I awoke that I realized that this was not Venerable Chodron, but probably Shakti herself. I think She is still veiled to me, hence the elaborate headdress. I guess I better set that alarm clock for 6 am instead of snoozing in till 7:30. LOL I am glad the message was pretty direct because that is the kind of communication I get best. Anyway, I am glad to be a part of this, I enjoy all your posts. Happy Vesak day, Alice
