Guest guest
You have hit the nail on the head here. If you can't love it is because you are afraid of losing yourself. If you are protecting yourself, you cannot love. Love is, when you are not. Love itself is an aspect of Unity; it is not present in fragmentation. There is much that passes for love, divided by some into sexual, brotherly, spiritual love. However, in my opinion, as long as there is a motive present, as in 'what we get out of' a relationship with another, be it the opposite gender, family members, or even G-d, that is pretty much an expression of separation-based desire, and not only is not love, but is actually the opposite. The self looks in vain for fulfillment, and whether one imagines fulfillment will come from attention, sympathy, sexual love, or any other kind of ointment over the pain of being separate and alone, it is, IMO, sorry to say, an impossibility. says, let go. I second that. The REAL you is a lot more than you give yourself credit for. Thomas i just started to look into the entity called love... i feel i cant even recognise it in others.....and whn i look at love i feel fear in me...i am afraid to touch it.....as if im going to loose something in me....im running away from it.... I wouldn't go that far. But I would say that is more likely to be " attachment " instead of love. I think few people really understand the difference. Whenever I hear someone say " I can't live without ... " I know it's attachment and not love. Attachment is selfish, love is selfless.
