Guest guest
Hello Group – Many of the people here have known me for a while, and there are several new people on the list who are less acquainted with me. I spoke with earlier tonight and he asked me to write a bit about myself. So here goes . . . . . I have had an interest in kundalini for a few years now. I found my way to this list when a good friend of mine suggested that I might be going through an awakening. I spoke with about it and he invited me to join in on an upcoming shaktipat. I have been an active member since then. I have somewhat of an unusual background. When I was in undergrad working on my first degree, I decided to spend my free time learning to fly. After I finished my first degree, I decided to build flying hours by teaching flying. I took extra training in aerobatics and did some competition. I was pretty addicted so ended up flying commercially. I did that for a while but decided I was getting bored with being a busdriver in the sky. I started to work on my second degree (biology) and began accumulating prerequisites for med school. After getting rid of husband #1, I met husband #2 and we moved to Columbia, MO where I attended med school, and he attended law school. (NEVER try divorcing a lawyer; it takes forever!) Anyway, upon finishing med school, I decided to stay in Columbia to do my residency in Internal Medicine. Near the end of my residency, it became time to get rid of #2. I completed my residency a free woman! A move back to the area where I grew up placed me where I am at currently. I decided to pursue a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at the OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Everything was going great until I started falling down in the parking lot. My last day to work was at the end of 2003 and an MRI of my head showed multiple lesions and I was diagnosed with MS. Although I have difficulties with basic daily activities such as walking (I can't), I can think pretty clearly. Unless I have been margarita'd – lol, I enjoy the occasional happy hour! I do keep my medical license and continuing medical education active and current. The reason for writing all this is to let all members know that there is a medical doctor here on this list who is also familiar with kundalini. I am happy to help anyone of you with any problems if you email me at mm7810. I am more comfortable with adults, but have been known to help a kiddo with basic stuff before. Please give me a shout if you ever need to. Blessings to All, Melissa L Cloer MD

Guest guest
Hey Groupies and Melissa, I just wanted to say that Melissa's and Chrism's posts on diabetes were on target for me and since dm affects about 3% (expected to double by 2030) of the population I'm sure there are also others in this group affected. Anyway, I contacted Melissa and discussed what I might do and we agreed that trying diet and exercise first with the options of meds later would be a good place to start. After only 2 maybe 3 days on an Adkins like diet, my glucose is already down, and my thinking has sharpened up too. Which is all to say that she's a great listener, she really does believe in alternative medicine, and beyond all that there's also her allopathic offerings. Bottom line, she's really cool! Guest guest
Peter, I am so glad that Dr. M is helping you with your DM! I have known her for quite a while now and I agree that she is a very caring and helpful lady and she has a wealth of knowledge to share both inside and outside of traditional medicine. Plus, she's about as genuine as they come....no subterfuge or smoke screens there! She's a great gal! Love ya, Melissa! Blessings & love to all, Claudia P.S. I thought the current figure on DM was much higher than 3%...but I know it is rising exponentially...good for you putting a battle plan in action, Peter! --- On Fri, 7/11/08, peter.nichols <peter wrote: peter.nichols <peter Re: About Me (i) Friday, July 11, 2008, 12:13 PM Hey Groupies and Melissa, I just wanted to say that Melissa's and Chrism's posts on diabetes were on target for me and since dm affects about 3% (expected to double by 2030) of the population I'm sure there are also others in this group affected.
