Guest guest
Wow, Melissa, you have had a very cool life so far! And you have accomplished so much and done so many different things. I very much admire all of it! I just wanted to let you know a little about my Mom and her MS. We think she probably got sick in her 20's I remember her walking 'funny' when I was a little girl. I really think she got it when she caught the measles from me, the 2nd time I got them. I remember everyone saying it was not possible to have them 2x, but I think they had gotten me vaxd and the 2nd time was from the vaccination. It was the 'bad' measles, that lasted a long time. She was in active MS for only a short period, maybe a couple of years, then was in remission for most of the rest of her life, until the last few years, when I suppose it became active again, and is at least partially responsible for the probs she is having now. she could walk until probably 5-6 months ago. I have to guess at some of this, because my parents do not really go to doctors much, LOL oh so that's where I got that! But I just wanted to let you know most of her years she was in remission. She is one of my heroes. She is a great warrior woman, very strong willed. As are you! I also wanted to ask about the Diabetes. My SO has it, along with heart disease. Is it cured by stopping most refined sugars, alcohol, fat cigars (!) getting more exercise and losing weight? Anything else? Just for my info, cause I can't do it for him, unfortunately. Nor do I seem to have much influence. But I can control some of what he eats, as I am the cook around here! Any way, just wanted to let you know you are also one of my heroes! Love and much light to you, carol
Guest guest
Hi Carol- Thank you for your kind words. Regarding DM and cardiovascular disease, you are definitely on the right track, although I cannot emphasize enough exercise. While aerobic is always good, I see more bang for the buck with lifting. I mean, I am non-mobile, yet manage to work out on robotic machines 6 days a week, swimming 2 times a week, on top of physical therapy 3 times a week! Please try to encourage him to move! I promise he will feel better also! Much Love, Melissa PS - ~I would still like to make it up to the winery sometime! , Carol Gunn <light248Y80 wrote: > I also wanted to ask about the Diabetes. Guest guest
Hi Carol and Melissa, The best book on diet that I have found is a little one called NeanderThin by Ray Audette, et al. It's basic cave man food. I have met Ray and he's quite a character he hunts with hawks for most if not all of his food. He developed it when he became diabetic. Good luck! Guest guest
No, it's really called NeanderThin. I don't know a wolf guy. I'm interested in including raw foods, but I haven't as yet started reading about it. Peter
