Guest guest
At the end of the day it all worked out for the best. I thought about animals and insects and how they often use disguise or subdefuge to avert danger and realised that even though it doesn't feel natural to me to lie at all, not even a tiny microscopic bit, in the moment it was the right thing to do. Nobody got insulted or hurt, everyone went off with a smile on there face, the " bossman " actually has a lot of respect for me and learnt a few things about women. I learnt a few things also. I guess it's your intention that counts when living on the righteous path. Like when you go to the doctors or see your family and do not mention Kundalini. You don't do it to hurt people but to love yourself. I learnt some good lessons and gained strength and had a great laugh at the end of it all. My boss gave me a gift of some expensive tea, told me I had done the best performance he had ever seen in his life and kissed me on both cheeks. PERFECT. Love elektra x x x Thanks for being there for me guys. x x x ________ Not happy with your email address?. Guest guest
Hi Elektra, I'm so glad this had a happy ending. As I said earlier, I think you handled it beautifully. As for the moral question, your analogy with nature is wonderful. In this dual world I don't think it's possible to get through it without wrestling with questions like these. Your solution was in real time. I would remember that I can't answer all questions like these with subterfuge, because then it becomes a policy of deception, which goes beyond giving people what they need to hear. It's just Plato and Aristotle arguing in your head. Love, Peter

My friend and mentor Ross Quinn teaches on this subject ... he's written a book about it actually. The bare details go like this: There are four reactions to threatening situations, and only four reactions, and they all come from nature. We're all familiar with Fight or Flight, and some may be familiar with the Freeze or " hide " reaction ... but there is a fourth, uniquely human reaction, called Facade (that's the one you've been discussing in this thread). These reactions don't start off as " bad " . They *work*. If they didn't work, nobody would make habits of them. But we've all perfected one or two to an art form (laugh) ... and the problem really occurs when we allow them to become unthinking programs or habits. Sometimes it is absolutely necessary to fight, run away, hide or put on a false front. The key to heading in a more effective direction is to become aware of what each of our individual reaction patterns looks like, and to stop and ask ourselves (as Elektra did), " Is this the most effective way to deal with this threat? " . Brandi
