Guest guest
The way I see this is to train the ego. Allow it to have its say within certain educational constructs. Treat it as one would treat a young child. Love it, help it, teach it, and discipline it. Ego is part of who we are. Kundalini infuses " all " of who we are; therefore there are no shortcuts around certain aspects of our selves. Many of the ancient systems do use phrases like " kill the ego " or other phrases that intimate the destruction of this component of the human matrix. Some of these interpreted ancient languages such as Sanskrit and Sumerian have multiple meanings that are not absolute in their clarity when placed into the English language. So I do feel that the ancients also recognized the ego for the survival traits it has and instead of annihilating it would also choose a path of discipline with regard to it. Nothing is absolute though everyone has there own course and the teachings involved in that course of choice. - blessings all - chrism
Guest guest
" Who " is it that trains the ego? Since the ego is a combination ofsensory data and the interpretation ofthat data (overly simplified explanation),a basic training in witness consciousness techniques would be a good start, otherwise, one could end up with deeper levels of ego " training " the ego. Very basic witness consciousness practice:1) the sensory data--- a sound, a smell, etc. 2) the body's perception of the data3) the witness observing the body's perceptionblessings, stag On Fri, Jul 25, 2008 at 2:28 PM, chrism <> wrote:
Guest guest
Consciousness does not = ego. Ego is " part " of consciousness not the whole thing. I see it from the standpoint of the ancient Huna practitioners the Kahunas. There is a: High Self - Aumakua Middle Self - Uhane Lower Self - uniheepelee These equal the spiritual aspects of a " Self " . They each have their own aspect of consciousness though most are shared by the lower and the middle self. The lower self wants to evolve into and middle self and the middle self wants to evolve into a Higher Self. Lower self is equal to the inner child and the ego. Middle self is equal to the mature conscious mind capable of discernment and discipline. Middle self must help lower self to become a middle self. Higher Self must help them both. Middle self cannot communicate directly with Higher Self but must go to the lower self who can. I find it makes some sense at least for me. Guest guest
Hi all Just wanted to add a little of my EGO I had talks with my guru a few times about ego as thus.... The ego is so much connected to the mind. The ego always strives for its domination and existence. Hence it creates all sorts of illusions and makes the YOU to believe that you are the ego. Unless you become present to the ego we cannot find out the real I in us. Siva is the observer and he is ignorant of any ego. He is the ultimate truth and pure consciousness. Need to become observer is very important and the first step to recognize the ego.
