We receive shaktipat which is similar to an attunement, I had no kundalini until i received Shaktipat. I do see everyones point, reiki was very healing for me and i was luckily very guided with it. I am a reiki master and teacher. Not active right now. But, I've seen the underbelly to it also, egotistical people parading as spiritual healers just because someone drew a few symbols over them. Many reiki healers are alcoholics and drug abusers, emotional wrecks who use reiki to boast their own sense of ego. Also, there is the other side, the loving angels who really are pure of heart and could probably heal with or without reiki. The true reiki was a lifestyle, with a practice of something simialr to the safeties and not done for money (whatever the reiki teachers tell you about doing it for money is the westernised story , a lie!) To be a true healer you need to be a clear vessel, unfortunately many reiki people are not. Many are. Luck of the draw.
