Guest guest
" If one realises on an experiential level, that one is a spiritual being, immortal and eternal, then the Ego disappears forever. " The experiential part of your statement is one of the areas where the Kundalini comes into the equation Venugopal. Yet even that can be frought with identification of and with the self or ego as the Kundalini uses the body for its soul enlightenment process. It takes discernment and discipline, a form of a practice of constant self correction. Not from mistakes but from an adoption of specific attitudes of behavior and self thought or inner dialogs. I see the ego as the inner child, impulsive, I want it my way or the highway, inner self. Not the entire mind as I do feel there is a more mature aspect of the mind that will gladly step aside for a blending into the enlightened individual. Speaking for myself here. I do enjoy your contributions here Venugopal. Always very informative and stated with grace. Thank you and blessings. - chrism
Guest guest
chrism, i felt that when ken wilber wrote " When identification spills out of the ego and into the Kosmos at large, the ego discovers that the individual Atman is infact all of a piece with Brahman. The big Self is indeed no small ego, and thus, to the extent you are stuck in your small ego, a death and transcendence is required. Narcissists are simply people whose egos are not yet big enough to embrace the entire Kosmos, and so they try to be central to the Kosmos instead. " that resonates exactly with what you write about the ego being the inner child and can be trained. its like a shift in perspective, and ego death is metaphorical for the death of old ways of thinking, seeing, and perceiving. though i'm sure that breaking the attachments may feel like a real death. I say bring it on! mikael
