Mayan Calendar Corroborates Hindu Prophecy

In the Brahma-Vaivarta Purana, Lord Krishna tells Ganga Devi that

there will be a Golden Age within the Kali-yuga that will start 5,000

years after the beginning of the Kali Yuga. The Golden Age will last

for 10,000 years according to Lord Krishna. The Kali Yuga calendar

began at midnight on 18 February 3102 B.C. according to many sources.

The ancient Hindu's mainly used lunar calendars but also used solar

calendars. If an average lunar year equals 354.36 days, then this

would be about 5270 lunar years from the time when the Kali Yuga

started until 21 Dec 2012, the year that the Mayans predict rebirth of

our planet; and it is also about 5113 solar years of 365.24 days per

year.

Krishna said that the Golden Age would start 5,000 years into the Kali

Yuga, but did he mean exactly or approximately 5,000 years? Did he

mean lunar or solar years? I think he meant approximately 5,000 years.

So, it doesn't matter if they were lunar or solar years. (You can

convert a Gregorian date to Kali day number and back.)

21 Dec 2012, the winter solstice day, is supposed to be the end of the

Mayan calendar, and will begin there-birth of the world, a totally

different world, and this date is day number 1,867,817 into the Kali

Yuga. By either solar or lunar years, we are over 5,000 years into the

Kali Yuga and it is time for Lord Krishna's prophecy to happen

according to the ancient Hindu scriptures. Lord Krishna's Golden Age

could easily begin in 2012!

The Mayan calendar began with the Fifth Great Cycle in 3114 B.C. and

will end on 21 December 2012 A.D.

The Hindu Kali Yuga calendar began on 18 February 3102 B.C. Note that

there are only 12 years difference between the Hindu's beginning of

the Kali Yuga and the Mayan's beginning of the Fifth Great Cycle.

The Mayan's Fifth Great cycle calendar will last for 5126 years, then

a new age of change will begin in 2012. It's amazing that both

calendar's began at about the same time over 5000 years ago and both

calendar's predict a totally new world and/or golden age after about

5000 years into their calendars! I think we are onto something with

these Mayan and Hindu 2012 predictions.

Now we have another ancient source, Hindu Scripture's called the

Brahma-Vaivarta Purana, predicting a new world about the same time

that the Mayans predicted it to come! Historically, this an amazing

fact since these two ancient cultures didn't have any contact.
