Guest guest
could we use perfumes to unlock the subconscious...? as much as we develop a keen aesthetic appriciation for gourmet foods and fine wines, can we aquire a deeper knowledge of the role of our olfactory sense? it is a cross cultural phenomenon, that we give little attention to in our busy society...you only have to think of the word essence..and you put together the soul and fragrance! modern research in neuroanatomy shows that fragances provide access to the brain emotions and visual imaging... think of christmas and the scents carry you there .. i wonder if we could use fragrance once we have accessed a certain relm, to fix it in our holistic memory ?? so that we can revisit there at will time and time again?... i associate/ experience scents as colours..i think you could also think of music as colours too..... i wonder if there are scents that open certain chakras?? or as markers on the tree of life?? or to charm the kundalini up the spine??? smell impulses take the fastest most direct route to the brain, even faster than visual or auditory input, and connects to the limbic system that governs emotion, so i think we could use it as a tool to preprogramme ourselves to acess emotional states , like an anchor , access code or psychic telephone leaving you with my favourite whiff of sweetpeas growing up the garden fence.. paula... ps..ordered a 25kw wind turbine today for an off grid experiment... (its massive)!

Guest guest
Hi Paula, Yes, I believe we are moved by the scents of various flowers and perfumes. The most natural, the better. I have synestasia where a smell can make me think of a colour or sound and vice versa. To me wednesday is yellow and a sunflower, with citrus scents. I would love to discover which scents help in arousing and awakening the Kundalini. Guest guest
I meant to reply to this post. I do thinks scents do help help. There are some scents I use to help with dream recall and for meditation there are some that promote clarity and calmness. How about one that helps you relax and surrender to what ever happpens. A few of my bottles of scents have written on the bottle suggested uses. The following are a few I have. Myrrh - used as amassage oil eases emotional turmoil and buoys the spirit. Calms the mind and purifyies the spirit. Juniper Berry - Hehe..it smells more like paint thinner to me. It is suppose to clear thoughts and is invigorating. Energizes the mind and frees the spirit. Sandalwood mixed with frankincense even helps with meditation. I never was able to find any frankincense to go with but did find a use for it. Sandalwood, Jasmine, Myrrh, mixed even parts plus Rose water mixed with distilled water in a mist bottle is good for misting your self with before going to bed. Helps with dream recall. Scandalwood by itself tones the skin and hair, focuses the mind, and sanctifies the spirit. Good but on the expensive side. Rose Otto - as a message blend with jojoba oil - help stablize emotions. Also good for you complexion, just dab it on. Geranium - restores balance..normalizes the thoughts and opens the spirit... that one should be good for K. Cinnamon leaf- energizes the body, focuse the mind and revitalizing to the spirit. Jasmine is my favorite - revitalizes the body, calms the mind and is liberating for the spirit. These are some I use, except for the Juniper Berry. I guess I should try it sometime to see if it will really invigarate me. I could use some of that right now.
