Guest guest
Chrism, My Kundalini has not yet awakened and I will be taking Shaktipat for the first time. I have been reading the posts on this egroup and have got a lot of information. But a few questions still remain. While the Shaktipat is being given, how much does life change from the normal? Will I be able to work during the period or do I need to take time off? What other aspects of regular life need to be changed to get the full effects of the Shaktipat (besides practicing the Safeties)? Also how long do the effects of Shaktipat last (in terms of behavioural changes)? Thanks for your help. Regards, Sanjiv

Life CAN be normal. There are practices to be done in conjunction with the Shaktipat so time to be able to do this is valuable. There are aspects that are dependant upon you Sanjiv and how willing you are to go into the Shaktipat and meditate and pray and to follow the instructions that will be given. I ask that it be given to people in accordance with what they can hold and process at the time it is given. Much of it requires that you are to be able to work and live and raise a family while this occurs. So expect that my friend but I cannot guarantee that will occur at first. @@ Will I be able to work during the period or do I need to take > time off? @@ That will once again depend upon you and your circumstances. How much time and how severe a focus are you going to exert? I would try to be as normal as possible in functioning with in life's normal parameters. Kundalini doesn't go away so it is best to feel and process the activation and awakening in the context of the normal life. @@ What other aspects of regular life need to be changed to > get the full effects of the Shaktipat (besides practicing the > Safeties)? @@ A sincere and regular daily practice of all of the safeties is paramount. 1) Following the instructions as given is also very important. 2) Opening and surrendering is very important. 3) Fasting if you can safely do so three days before the first day of the Shaktipat with the third day falling on the first day of the Shaktipat can be helpful. 4) Bare feet on bare ground or bare perineum on bare ground can be helpful in the weeks before the Shaktipat. 5) A consistent purposeful intended unity with all of life and all of creation is helpful. 6) A willingness to let go of the self defined existence and allow God and Shakti to come to the inner and outer expression of how one lives life is very beneficial. 7) Meditation and praying five or more times a day in the three weeks prior to the Shaktipat is helpful. Consistency is important with this. 8) Being consistently helpful and kind and considerate towards others even if " you " are under duress is helpful. 9) A constant relevance of Kundalini in the waking life i.e. a constant thinking and thought process around the Kundalini and how it filters into and manifests into the living of life is very helpful -this must be constant. 10) S & xual repression for the three weeks prior to the Shaktipat and to include the seven days of it is helpful. 11) An attitude of love for all of life's little wonders. An acknowledgement of them and an honoring of them. From the whisper of the wind to the sound of a cricket to the gentle buzzing of bees to the laughter of children and the sight of a beautiful sunrise and sunset. The feeling of cool water on and in the body and the feeling of hot water as it warms the body. The radiations of the Sun as it is felt and the beauty of Sunshine as it lights up a day. The comfort of darkness and the sounds of the night. The sense of gratefulness for all things and a surrendering to God and Shakti as they give from this richness into and upon you. 12) Surrender of your self. How " you " wish to direct your life. Surrender of your ego and how it wishes to rule your life. Surrender of your love and your family ties, friendships and romantic love. Surrender of your physical, social and mental and emotional and psychological processes and spiritual processes and how they are manifested and understood by you. Surrender them into the trust of your inner and outer teacher. This would be Shakti. And Shiva. Sacred Female and Sacred Male. God. Surrender these qualities as best you can. These options will best enhance a Shaktipat. @@ Also how long do the effects of Shaktipat last (in terms of > behavioural changes)? @@ The rest of your life Sanjiv. Yet we go slowly here. No rushing. So if you are able to hold a small seed of the Shakti then this is what will be given and this is what will be processed by you for a time. This is customized to each and every individual and so as it is for you and your system it may not be for another and their system. We are individual and come with individual Karma to the Kundalini experience. The changes as given are best given in small doses that you can continue to work and live as you have been doing. It is still needed that a person be able to drive a car for example. Shakti is an intelligent energy and spiritual consciousness and it will determine what you can have and hold my friend. @@ > Thanks for your help. > Regards, > > Sanjiv >
Guest guest
Hello Chrism, Thanks a lot for the information. It is very helpful. I am looking forward to the Shaktipat, though honestly there is some trepidation due to the major life changes that Kundalini awakening will bring. On the other hand, I realize that Kundalini awakening is a major (if not the main) goal in life, so I am preparing myself for the changes. All information which helps this preparation is very valuable, and I would appreciate the insights of all who have been through this process, specially tips on coping with reactions from spouses and children as well as work colleagues towards the changed behaviour that Kundalini awakening will bring. Guest guest
Hello Sanjiv, I think we all have to face the fact that there will be changes. The funny thing is, the longer you are with us, the more you will look forward to those changes as you hear others experiencing them. In fact, you may even feel a little left behind if changes don't appear right away. Going slow is the way I chose. I love the changes, though they are very subtle and gentle in my experience. I often don't realize the changes until something happens to reveal that I'm not a certain way anymore, and in some cases not even the same at all. Like shedding a skin. But I remember the fear of looking down the road at what " might " happen. It was just a fear, nothing more. It has been a beautiful journey and I look forward with joy now, to the Awakening and all that will open up to me. Baby steps at first until you feel balanced and trust the process. Understandings come with the changes, with Chrism's help, and the unfoldings are exciting and challenging. Haven't seen or heard of anything to worry about. We're growing naturally in Shakti's womb as she births us into a new creation... caterpillar to butterfly. I think its natural to feel a little trepidation at first, maybe for a while...but it leaves when its no longer needed. Hope that helps a little. Guest guest
Hello Dhyana, Thank you for your insights. Hearing your experience does make me feel more comfortable with accepting whatever changes will occur with the process of Awakening. Guest guest
Hi Chrism Is the Shaktipat generally for those who have not awakened yet or also for those who have awakened? Tilly , " chrism " <> wrote:
Guest guest
Depends upon the level of surrender to the guidance they are receiving. If they are deep into the initial process they may not have a strong intuitive connection to the guidance yet and that can be improved by Shaktipat. It is something for them to discern. -

Guest guest
Thank you for this information. There is a lot involved and I am willing to do all that is required. The K and all that's entailed has become a large part of my life and it SI what I have been searching for. The Safeties are now becoming natural to me and I feel so much happier and purer because of them. Thank you.
