Guest guest
Hi Bruce, Thanks for the book reference. I will get it and read it. But before that. I can say. We need to choose a standard to measure our actions. Ken Wilber is a guy. He might be intelligent and knowledgeable, but he is a guy. there are 6 billion guys around. It makes more sense if we choose standards that are given to us by THE GOD. He is more knowledgeable than any human form. Standards of the God are the same in all three original books Quran, Bible, All original Hindu books. Jesus says: <you shall not kill>. and Christians do kill any thing that moves. Quran says, <food of people of heaven is fruits>. and Moslems eat any thing that moves All Hindu scriptures, Gita, Shrimad Bhagavatam, many sutras and Upanishads, are very clearly stating that if you kill a cow you will be a cow as many times as number of hairs in her body and will be slathered. and majority of Hindus are not following Buddha came for just one purpose, AHIMSA, No violence, no killing animals, This was his main purpose, to teach us to go back to the state of not killing animals and be compassionate, and some Buddhists are not following. Therefore what I want to say is that God in all scriptures said the same thing. And us humans no exception are bending it and not following his commands. If a MAN a writer, how ever clever and creative or what ever he is says something, any thing, I do not agree unless what ever he says is in consistency with God's scriptures that are all the same, different languages but content is the same, <Compassion, love> These are the core of all God's commands Also if you meditate and ask your self is killing animals an act of compassion and love or (i need protein) If you need protein, buy beans from supermarket Your meditation, connecting your Jiva Atma to the Param Atma, to the K, will say to you that, eh it is not a so loving act. All safeties, forgiveness, service, tolerance, all are different forms of Love. And love is the STEP ONE that we need as fuel for K. Guest guest
@@@@Jesus says: <you shall not kill>. and Christians do kill any thingthat moves.@@@@ Did you know that Jesus and his disciple ate meat? Jesus wasn't a vagan. He also feed the crowds with fish. ----------------------@@@ Yahshua ate the Passover with His Disciples at the start of the 14th exactly as the Law mandated, or else He risked being "cut off": "On the first day of Unleavened Bread the disciples came to [Yahshua], saying, Where do you want us to make the preparations for you to eat the Passover? He said Go into the city to a certain man, and say to him, The Teacher says, `My time is near; I will keep the Passover at your house with my disciples,'" Matthew 26:17-18 NRSV. The parallel account in Mark reads, "The Teacher asks, where is my guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples…Make preparations for us there, " Mark 14:14-15. Luke 22:7 quotes the Messiah saying to Peter and John, "Go and prepare the Passover meal for us that we may eat it." To the owner of the house they are to ask, "The Teacher asks you, `where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?'" NRSV. @@@ The passover meal consist of unleavened bread and the sacrificed animal. Just google "what the passover meal consist of ". Also: Romans 142 One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4 Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Blessings, Linda --- "Shahin" <sh1963sh wrote:>> > Hi Bruce,> > Thanks for the book reference.
