I don't know about all that but I recall one guest on Coast to Coast

saying that the ceremony she performed was a common " crowning "

ceremony in that part of the world at that time. I have been looking for

some scholarly confirmation of this but it makes sense. The word

" Christ " meaning " anointed one " or " king "

has been twisted into something it was never meant to imply, imo.

Actually there are two words in the Bible that are translated

" virgin " . The word in Isaiah's prophecy that is commonly used

to justify belief in a Divine Virgin Birth is

" almah " (a

girl who has reached puberty but is still under the shielding protection

of her family; she is a young, marriageable (i.e. unmarried) girl.).

There was a word available to Isaiah - " parthenos " which

actually does mean " virgin " in the manner in which we

understand it. The concept of a virgin birth is a pagan idea with a long

and colorful history which pre-dates Christianity practically to the dawn

of recorded history.

Like so much Biblical history you need to keep peeling off the layers and

take everything with a grain of salt since it all suffers though 2,000

years of (deliberate imo) mistranslation.
