Entities in dreams? - Shadow work

True enough it isn't mentioned as much as it should be and I thank

you Bruce for the observation.

We are a diverse group with many people in different grades of the

infusion. Sometimes the thought of working with the Shadow can drive

one into terror. But it is perhaps the explanation that can help in

these areas. I call them fear tests. But that can seem to have an

origin of an exogenous source and that isn't necessarily so.

So here and now is a bit on working with the Shadow aspects of who

we are.

We are good and bad at the same time. We have evil within and

goodness within. They are both used as survival mechanisms in a

world that is largely predatory. And yet we often distort through

cultural indoctrination or societal pressures the positive qualities

of the darkness and of the light. Also the negative properties of

both. Remember we are here in duality.

We own most of our fears if not all of them. We own them and we

nurture them through out our lives. Our fears are supported by our

society and by our families. We water them with dreams and harvest

them with physical expression.

As I was in Hell and experiencing many of the most vicious

experiences being conducted upon my family and my self I began to

realize that all of these experiences were not going to change my

basic moral understandings. After that things began to become a bit

boring. Tortures here and there of my mother and sister. I knew that

these were mere aspects that were being shown to me to bring me to

certain ways of thinking. I learned to step out of fear and into

understanding no matter what was shown.

So I started to do the reversals. In my way this is accepting and

taking responsibility for the darkness in your self. Then changing

it as it suits your new understandings. This is merely my way, there

are as many other ways as there are people walking this experience.

Bruce has his way. Whatever your way is or becomes do not let

the " fearful " aspect distract you from knowing that you are engaging

in an internal balance. This is where lucid and OOB experiences can

be so helpful.

Even the " faceless entities " are often merely aspects of your

personal fears that you refuse to " face " .

In the Tibetan ritual of the " Chod " the individual strips and lays

themselves out to the mercy of the demons within and without.

Willingly gives his or her body to the predators of the environment

and to God. Total and complete surrender.

This is what it takes.

Please be advised. One can take it in steps though no need to rush

into it without knowing what is involved or not conditioning through

the safeties for its expression. Similar to the dismemberments given

by the Kundalini one merely surrenders and " in this process " is the

body renewed.

Our Shadow selves are unique to us. Not all of them come from this

life experience. Some can come from other life experience and this

is determined by the individual soul before the current incarnation.

So as you dream and are attacked, surrender to it. Walk into it. Let

the giant snake eat you, Run into her mouth, and do pull ups on her

fangs!. Be a wiling participant. Let the giant spider eat you. Let

these fears be faced and from doing so one can then become changed

and begin to play in the water like a seal! A la Bruce! - blessings

Nice overview chrism :) Your comment about facing these aspects

really resonated with a dream I had.

I've had dreams where I will be running for some reason, sometimes

away from something specific, and I find that I move slower and

slower. Every time I have become frustrated beyond belief and no

resolution came out. However, recently I had a dream where I was

passing people outside of a bar and one was a person with which I've

had issue with. I sort of recognized him and suddenly I couldn't move

very well again. I turned to my left and realized that person wasn't

actually the one I knew, then I flipped around backwards and saw the

right person. Suddenly I could move fast again (but backwards :) I

made some comment then zoomed off!

Anyway, I believe the lesson for me was to turn and face whatever is

troubling me instead of pretending it is not there or whatever silly

thing I'm used to doing.

Hio Chrism,

thanks, a nice overview. I found being eaten by the monsters very

useful...ha..I lost count of my deaths..:) They allowed movement and

often the final step of surrender. I would often relive dreams

intentionally dying...!!

Interesting, that in the Matrix movies, Neo finally gives up the fight

with his shadow (Agent Smith) and surrenders, is consumed by Smith,

and then Neo re-emerges having integrated Smith into his being. The

turn around happens when the fight stops and surrender is allowed (and

you become Darth Vader for a just a very short while)..

If anyone is interested in working furthur with shadow, I highly

recccomend the 3-2-1 Shadow Process on the ILP kit (from

www.myilp.com) based on Ken Wilbers work...I used it hundreds of

times..

love

Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Is the Shadow self the same as the ego self or is it something

different? If it is something different, what is the difference?

Thanks,

Linda
