Guest guest
There was an edge to the energy today. A different taste and smell. The pitch was just a bit different. The air was calm and quiet, not so much to my taste. I love the days when the trees dance, just let themselves go. Swaying in exuberance. Stuck in one place, when they dance you can hear their glee. This is not the smell of the dry leaves already falling from the trees,or the ragweed that says summer has ended. There were no birds today in the woods, it was quiet. The hawthorne trees are loaded down with fruit, the acorns are huge.I've never seen such a crop of rose hips. Winter is not looking good. But that's not it, this is a natural cycle of things I've seen this for many years, its all around you if you watch for it. Use your senses, breath deep the life around you. Smell it, taste it, touch it, don't be apart from it, welcome it in. It is your beginning and your end. Not it and could not quite figure out what was going on. Then the hawk that trolls our back field for food showed up, higher up than I have ever seen her. Circling on air that is still and calm. How can she do that? I watched her go higher and higher till she was just a tiny dot in the sky. Silence as she flew, higher and higher. Don't ever leave silences, leave in full voice. Then I remembered and I realized it was for all of you, here and now. " " The conditions of a solitary bird are five: First, that it flies to the highest point. Second, that it does not seek after company, not even its own kind. Third, that it aims its beak to the wind. Fourth, that it has no definite color. Fifth, that it sings very sweetly. Guest guest
Hon. I really don't know, his first words were " I went to the woods " . I like him a lot. I really don't know how I write like that. My wife would be the first one to laugh if anyone said I could write. She's a librarian and copy editor. I'm just a mechanic and now funky old guy janitor. I seem to be here for a reason, a balance of forces. You all need to know how powerful the natural world around you is. My lesson is for you all to embrace it with your whole heart. Chrism would say we are all here for a reason, it gives me great pleasure to share, I live in eden and how can I not share. If the group would like me to be quiet I can be that as well. My peace to you all Don. > Beautiful.............are you channeling Thoreau? > > > Julie >
Guest guest
A beauty, Don. I saw a red tail hawk circling over our house in suburbia, not 100 ft. up today. We have loads of pigeons so they won't go hungry here. It was a beautiful creature to watch, circling so effortlessly, so gracefully. I get to see a little of what nature has but nothing like you in the woods. I wish I had that, I would revel in it as you do!!! But for now, I will see it through your eyes, by proxy. Thank you for giving us a window into that world, Don. Love back to you, Valarie

Guest guest
Thank you, Don. I feel the warmth of being at home when I read you. I had an encounter with a tree this past week. I was sitting in my car having a ten minute break from the insanity of work. I became still and looked closely at the young tree right in front of me. It was a Maple, and it had these large black spots on many of its huge leaves. It dawned on me that it was caused by some insects, and I felt saddened. And then it hit me how defenseless the tree was, and how it surrendered to whatever happened to it. It felt like a communication moved between us, and I felt changed. It was a very sacred moment...and then I had to go back into the insanity with a little more understanding. I was blessed. Guest guest
Keep writing Don and thanks for sharing your eden with us. I miss the woods. When I first moved here in this house, we had fields all round us and had deer, armadillo, opposums and other animals that would come right into our yard. Some still do once in a while, but not an every day occurance any longer. When I was kid, I had lots of woods to run around in. I miss it. Linda , " novalees " <dhyana wrote: > > Thank you, Don. Guest guest
Another hawk to add to the list. I remarked to my friend about it the day of. I got out of my car at home, and thought there was an airplane's shadow over me. I look up, and there was this hawk flying so close to the ground. And I am NOT in the country, very much in the city. I look up HAWK in my Animal Spirit Guide book to see what her totem represented. When all of you started mentioning your hawk guides, I thought I would pass this on. From the book "Animal Speak:" KEYNOTE: Visionary Power and Guardianship, CYCLE OF POWER: Spring and Fall Equinoxes-New Moon. Maybe she is our autumnal equinox Shaktipat mascot. They are messengers, protectors, and the visionairies of the air. This powerful bird can awaken visionary power and lead you to your life purpose. It is the messenger bird, and wherever it shows up, pay attention. There is a message coming. The red tail is very symbolic. It has ties to the kundalini. It is associated with the base chakra. Those who have a red-tailed hawk as a totem will be working with the kundalini. It can also reflect that this bird becomes a totem in your life only after the kundalini has been activated. It may pop up as a totem at that point in your life where you begin to move toward your soul purpose more dynamically. It teaches how to fly to great heights while still keeping your feet on the ground. Hawks are occasionally harassed and attacked by smaller birds. It indicates that there are likely to be attacks by people who won't understand you or the varied and different uses of your creative energy. They may attack your ability to soar. It is usally a permanent resident in an area; and the hawk will be with you permanantly once it shows up. They live up to 14 years in the wild. 14 is significant. the 14th card in the tarot deck is the card of Temperance, representing teaching of higher expressions of psychism and vision. It can be used in the development of astral projection--new flights out of the body. It has ties to the acitivation of your vital energies (kundalini), and the bold expression of it. It is tied to the archetypal forces that teach beauty and harmony in moderation. It holds the keys to higher levels of consciousness. Rising to a higher level can bring a rapid development of the psychic energies, helping us balance and use those sense appropriately. It represents an intensity of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual forces. This bird is the catalyst, stimulating hope and new ideas. It reflects a need to be open to the new or shows you ways that you may help teach others to be open to the new. Because of the strong energy (intensified life-force) activated by this totem, an individual with it must be careful in how they express themselves. There will unfold within you the ability to tear off the heads of any snakes in your life, or anyone or anything seen as an enemy. Your comments and actions will be like the hawk's beak and talons--strong and powerful, but with a capability to tear and/or kill. The tail is significant. Its feathering is lighter during the summer and darker during the winer. The lighter is often symbolic of more joyful and sociable kinds of energies. The darker can reflect a time to be alone or to withdraw a little. The color phases help us to guard against blazing so brightly and intensely that we burn out. The sky is the realm of the hawk. Through its flight it communicates with humans and with the great crator spirit. It awakens our vision and inspires us to a creative life purpose. - ANIMAL SPEAK - Ted Andrews. sigh........................... Guest guest
No way do I want you to quiet - you are a breathe of life for me who lives in the city- I am enjoying the wonderful foliage here in nc - the trees are huge and so green - I was hoping to not have to deal with bugs but that is not happening - so I am limited to going out unless I cover myself with bug goop - I do once in a while - just to be outside - my geno loves seeing and hearing all the birds - the music is so relaxing - I am envious of your space Don- but so appreciative of your sharing - you have a gift of describing so that I feel I am there with you and I am in spirit - Please keep sending the happenings in your little neck of the woods- blessings , merlin wrote: > > Hon.
