LOL! Not a drop of water, Dhyana. It was all a big hype! The oil

companies made a big killing out of this one, just like they did with

Rita. It was all lies...the size of the storm. We are only about 100

miles from Galveston. If that storm had been over 400 miles across,

we should have got something. We didn't even get enough wind to blow

the dead limbs out of the trees. I am so P.Oed! Thank God! Not too

many people listened this time and stayed home. When they switched it

and had it going to Galveston, I knew then it was a repeat of Rita.

We stayed home. It was just a normal hurricane. You would not believe

all the kooky mistakes the weather announcers where making last

night. It was all a big hyped up joke!

Yes, I was ORDERED to remove everything from my balcony in austin. people were removing every item from the grocery shelves, and lined up at the pumps. people were glued to the "weather station" listening to the dire threats of eminent loss of life. weather station predicted huge winds and rain for austin. people who had just moved here from different parts of the country were terrified as they had never been through a hurricane, and were made to feel they were in terrible danger here. it was 103 degrees here in Austin with just a few clouds until about noon, then the sun came shining through the rest of the day. my wind chimes never stirred. so i am hauling everything back out to the patio this morning. don't misunderstand; i am grateful we were not affected; but there must be a more accurate way to predict who

will be affected and to what extent. in the hotel, it was so sad to see people i had to turn away, with nowhere to go, tired, hungry, wondering how they would pay for hotel rooms, hauling their families and pets. literally a million people. my friend's daughter lives in houston, with three children. they slept through the night. i don't get it..................
