Guest guest
chrism (and everyone), I don't know if you are at all familiar with the (now cancelled) sci-fi drama " The 4400 " but thought I would mention it. I very much liked the series, which is based upon the idea that a group of people was 'abducted' from different times and places, and brought together, finding that they had received varying gifts and psychic abilities. the government saw them as a tremendous threat to National Security and tagged and monitored all of them. much of the show was about individuals struggling with these abilities (in some cases dying, ending up in prison, mental institutions etc) and reconciling themselves with the lives they had left behind. unfortunately the show loses that focus and becomes largely a cult of end-timers. a very charismatic returnee (and former media mogul and billionaire) becomes their messianic leader in a Scientology-esque foundation. eventually they attempt to awaken the mass population once they find a particular neurotransmitter that seems key to the 4400's abilities. I don't want to give away too much of the story, just hit some of the important points and ways it (a smaller-budget, sci-fi oriented, 2004 production) differs from " Heroes " and yet is oriented around similar themes. I'm sure I mentioned the show before, so apologies to anyone to whom I've said nothing new. -brian , " chrism " <> wrote: > > > I have been watching a TV show called " Heroes " .
