Guest guest
Depends upon his meaning of the word pain. All of the bodies of expression with a possible exception of the spiritual body can feel pain. I am defining aspects of the human expressive platform and grouping them into known sensate experiences with reference to how and where the the expression correlates with in our complete platform of expression. Heart pain of an emotional nature being associated to the emotional body but which can also bleed over into the phsyical body cardio expression as an example. - blessings and soft chairs dear Brandi! - chrism , Brandi Jasmine <jazztalk wrote: > Eckardt Tolle has coined the phrase " the pain body " and I think he's onto something. Would that be the same thing as the psychological or ego body in your mind? Or perhaps only the negative half of it? > > Brandi >

I need some extra cushions right now that's for sure. But he isn't really speaking of physical pain. That can be part of it, but it's mostly emotional pain. The best way I can illustrate it is through example. If in the past I was hurt or offended by something - encountering that now may trigger my pain body. He describes it as sort of a form of psychic parasite that lives off pain, that seeks it out, feeds on it. The best example I know of is when you see a battered woman get out of one abusive relationship and the very next guy she is attracted to is another abuser. But at the same time it is part of us, not something separate from us. We've all known someone with a heavy pain body, someone who is overly sensitive and easily offended has a heavy pain body according to Tolle. I think he is using the language metaphorically but sometimes sounds quite literal in the way he describes it. Brandi
